Since it appears again that people are going to avoid answering the question, and say there needs to be more representation from the 'south' - I want to start a seprate thread. This nonsense has gone on long enough..
I want someone to show where the SB imbalance is from this breakout and I want to know: what exactly is the southern part of the district ?
there are 7 board positions --
we have 2 north CB and JC we have 2 south BG and AT well call JS central for the sake of argument we have 2 west in MM and CV
I am hoping by south they do not have to be SW only -- what about SE where the largest ES is ?
Not all that long ago where I am WAS the south - because there virtually was nothing south of us, and don't remember any of the hoopla I am reading now
How about real answers from everyone, not empty rhetoric.

Follow up question: how, if at all, is the south not being served? What perspectives/issues/concerns are unique to the "south", that would not be shared from the "north"?

IMHOCurrently - North is anything going to WVHS and South was anything going to NVHS.

So how many board members live in the current WVHS area and how many live in the current NVHS attendance area?

That would be 5 in the WVHS attendance area, and 2 in the NVHS attendance area.
Correct?
And one current board member (that would be AT) made disparaging comments about "building bridges" at the first candidates forum. Hmm, think she might only represent portions of the NVHS attendance area.

I was in the audience that night and it's not how I took it. I thought this had already been discussed and resolved here weeks ago.

And one current board member (that would be AT) made disparaging comments about "building bridges" at the first candidates forum. Hmm, think she might only represent portions of the NVHS attendance area. Well at least we now understand the criteria - it is no longer good enough to be from the south - you must be from one neighborhood - and even then better think exactly the same as those who want that, because if they were from your area and thought differently than you - and trust me there are some, that also would also not be good enough...-- OK -- got it now. There are 31 ES school districts and 7 SB positions - the math speaks for itself -- and that would be assuming 'everyone' in each ES school district felt the same way - not likely. Also another thing that stands out - most of the district already is thinking in terms of SB representation, and all other items related to 204 as 3 high schools -- obviously not everyone though -- some are still fixated on NV vs. WV -- thanks for clarifying that too Also Alka did studies on transportation - and the brdige she was referencing was not the infamous bridge you mention - but then that would require asking someone, namely Alka herself...
