The building was designed to take advantage of natural light. Yea, I get tired of seeing schools that have fewer windows than the Cook County Jail. Overall sounds like a pretty smart design. Sounds like they did their homework. Did you bring up the driving range we wanted to put on the roof?

I don't normally attend SB meetings, this was only my 2nd regular meeting, but my understanding is that after the student recognitions are handed out, the crowd does thin considerably. You missed BPA, Business Professionals of America. My son was one of the BPA members there from WV. They also spoke about looking into renewable energy, but that will be looked at further down the road.

The DH article says the plans will be up on www.ipsd.org. They're not there yet....

Did you bring up the driving range we wanted to put on the roof? Public comments (none) were before the presentation, but they will be tweaking the design for a while, I am sure they would love to hear your ideas. ;D

The proposed plans are up at the SD website now.
Is it typical for them to take public comment about the plans?? I don't recall the procedure when NVHS was built??

It is more of a % than a X.

I like the '%' analogy. Good description. Overall. I really like the design, plenty of access (from drop off), and great foot traffic inside (lots of alternate access routes from point A to B). Best of all, Tiger Woods could drive down that center section on the rooftop driving range

Yes, you are right. It does look like a % sign.
This is to signify the achievement gap that the new high school will start with, and in 5 years after opening, it will signify how many % points it is ahead of Neuqua and WVHS.

It seems to me that they are lacking a number of classrooms.

It seems to me that they are lacking a number of classrooms. How many do they need? Looks to me that there are lots.

I'm just conparing it to the classroom space at NVHS. I'm not including applied Tech, Art, Music - just basic classroom space.

There is now way you can make that judgement from that sketch.

I just have to trust that the architectural firm does not want to ruin their reputation in the industry by building a high school without enough classrooms.
