Townhomes on MWGEN ? No- that land was never even going to be for sales until we approached them...isn't that the story ? That land I am fairly sure will never hold housing. And as opposed to another suggestion I read on we just don't but th 17acres ( if that's all the issue is - we'll see)- and all will be OK. It will still be part of the schooll campus as I see it, whether we own itor not. Read my post. I'm talking about the AME land not MWGEN. ETA: I probably should have put a period after the part about no buildings being on the land and started a new sentence about the AME land. I'm sorry if it was confusing.

For those that think no one lives near by, I can see the blue/grey tank from my bathroom window (I could see more but there are a bunch of trees in the way), and behind my neighbors house they have three colored poles that designate the "scary" transmission lines. My youngest son and I took a bike ride on the MWGEN site on Sunday and if you go out there and look back to the west, it is amazing how far Eoal road is. No we did not start to glow, and it was fun to see that at that time 4 of the 12 generators were taken out. As of today, all 12 exhaust stacks are down so we are planning a bike ride tomorrow to get a closer look at the clean up.
I will be honest, a close brand new school will be cool, but then again I do own lots of green and gold so that would be cool too.
By the way, Pulte was going to buy the AME site before AME own it, and it was back when the peaker plant was operating. And by the way, when operating it sounded like railroad engines. I thought at first when we moved here there was a train stopped and just revving its engine. It was only in the summer (hence the name "peaker"), but never an annoyance. And if you had looked at the generator units before they were taken down, they looked just like a railroad engine with a big tall exhaust stack.

Arch, what's your pipe explosion radius? What's your position on EMF? According to your PCBs and Lord knows what other toxins are leeching into the earth at astronomical rates for decades, oozing their way toward the school. Are you saying that the dangers magically stop at the property boundary? The dangers drop when it's just private residences and people can make their own personal choices to live there or not. Just as a point of reference though, the PIR for the propane 'worst case consequence' for the BP center used for the D200 school report was 1,616 feet. Their 'worst case' is an explosion; all the fuel used up, 1 Boom.. done.. no continual burn or secondary explosions like you could get from multiple pipelines. Their 'alternative scenerio' (most likely) is simply a release of the product and the radius that product would cause grave harm even if not ignited or exploded. That PIR was 251 feet. How far away was the MV building from the pipelines again?

Thanks for the answer to my rhetorical question. Any time. You within 1,616 feet?

Probably. I'd have to get my yardstick to be sure.
And yet somehow, I'm not worried. I know horrible parent!

Honestly, I don't have any opinion one way or the other on what a private citizen chooses for their own families. I could care less where you personally live or what food choices you make, whether you exercise or not, etc. When it comes time to make decisions that effect ALL families who have kids that go to school, I care. When it involves choices that have consequences that could mean people's hard earned and spent tax money could be effectively rendered useless.. I care. See how that line of delineation works?

Do you care what someone else does in their own home or do you not care when it comes to tax payer money or decisions that involve ALL kids?

No, Arch, my line of what I think is safe and your line of what is safe are separated.
It has nothing to do with the other. My degree of paranoia isn't as far reaching as yours the same way your degree of safety is way farther than mine.
What I think is safe and what you think is safe are on different planets. Would you not agree?

So here we are once again agreeing to disagree. ETA: But still kind of agreeing on our disagreement? Let's do it again tomorrow!

I went to the other board out of morbid curiosity, and found this related to the WE/TG going to WV if Eola is not accepted implication: "This was GDs mockup. Remember, this is the students we have right now. No growth.
2009-10 school year, WE/Fry Fr and Sophs moved to WV as per the planned schedule
HS WV Main 3397 NV Main 3340 WV Fr Cntr 1311 NV Fr Cntr 983 Tot WV 4458 NV 4573"<end of copied portion of post> First, does anyone have a calculator? Second, I really find the implication that TG and WE should be sent to WV to pay for their sins really amusing. News flash, most of us could give a crap. Probably 20 people in a neighborhood of 1000 houses give a crap. Taking such pleasure in the mere thought of inflicting punishment on people is completely bizarre. Third, I just have to express my true surprise at the blind anger and rage over this whole situation which was apparent on my tour around the other board. I think the board-bashing along with the neighborhood bashing is passe'. I post on both using my real avatar; most have changed theirs but are recognizable by their posts. I don't see where you got the impression that WE & TG will be sent to WV to punish them from that post, although I have heard it around both boards. I think we should move past it. I do think it is a likely scenario to relieve crowding at NV if the 3rd HS fails for some reason. I have found the posters on the other board want a safe 3rd HS asap. All of us want to see the phase II and if all is well, lets get on with it, wherever.

Just like nsfoc fraud - I don't like this portayal that one group is 100% altruistic.....it's not true on either side of the fence.

Of course you're right Doc, everyone has an agenda of some kind. I do think there is more postive posting but maybe it's because they all agree with me (unlike this board). The point is lets stop the bashing and find a way to unite in some way or just disagree without finger pointing at each other.
