Of course you're right Doc, everyone has an agenda of some kind. I do think there is more postive posting but maybe it's because they all agree with me (unlike this board). The point is lets stop the bashing and find a way to unite in some way or just disagree without finger pointing at each other. I will remind you the reason this fire is burning was because yet again we had the same LTEs in the paper. Maybe these words are better saved for others. These ramblings are contained to the blue board. I'd like to think we have a big audience (lots of guests) but not the same as the Sun or DH. Maybe you should take this message to those writing the LTEs??

The point is lets stop the bashing and find a way to unite in some way or just disagree without finger pointing at each other. The finger I point is at our SB who did not do what they said they were going to do ( AND what we voted on as 'SOLD" ) - to us - the the state government - & to the kids -- that is where the main finger points. They even went as far as asking kids involved and then pulled the rug out from under them also. They are the sole cause for the issues we have now. Strategies turned area against area as a means to an ends - and now likely will never end as they have spiraled so far down that path. I will never forget the major league crap that was pulled here....and how I allowed myself to be conned... and I will give a pass to no one who has done this. The other times I get ticked is when someone pretends to be totally altruistic - when I doubt anyone is. And while you may disagree with me as to the potential safety issues with that site, this is one I actually hope I am wrong on. However I am not willing to risk my child to find out, nor do I think I should be asked to. I just pray that you and those who support this wholeheartedly are correct, I really do. I am not a gambler, and I guess this shows why.

I'd rather leave a site alone and be wrong (still no harm done) then build on a site and be wrong (harm done). If you can accept the worst-case, then anything else is easy. I can accept the worst case of not building on Eola and later finding out it's fine. Can everyone else accept the worst case of building there and finding out it's NOT FINE ?

It occured to me not to even post those LTE's; there is nothing new in any of them and I knew they were inflammatory to one side or another. It does give us fodder, though. Do you think we should exclude them from this board?

Well first, this wasn't board "bashing." The figures in the posting on the other board to demonstrate this scenario are clearly incorrect - in this proposed and very coincidental scenario, WV would be more at 4700+, and NV at ~4500. Which suggests nothing BUT a purposeful "out to get 'em" type maneuver at the sacrifice of their own school. If it were just sending WE to WV, then it would have been a less obvious suggestion. So I guess I see alot of anger there that I don't see here. Not bashing, just a simple observation. It would be different if perhaps there was someone who said let's hold the SB accountable and work towards getting answers to the questions that are being asked. Instead, I just see alot of people quick to request a blanket "support the SB and build at AME" in response to just about any concern. Whatever, this is annoying. People (incl. you) are taking some vendetta against a very small minority out on everyone else and it's just illogical and frankly does more harm than those people ever could have done absent a reaction. If you are truly interested in diplomacy, the way to defend a position is to handle rational objections in a productive and factual manner, and throw out the hysteria, not respond to the hysteria and claim that any objections against your position is a personal attack. What you're effectively doing is burning your own village to save it. I guess that's all I have to say on that. I went to the other board out of morbid curiosity, and found this related to the WE/TG going to WV if Eola is not accepted implication: "This was GDs mockup. Remember, this is the students we have right now. No growth.
2009-10 school year, WE/Fry Fr and Sophs moved to WV as per the planned schedule
HS WV Main 3397 NV Main 3340 WV Fr Cntr 1311 NV Fr Cntr 983 Tot WV 4458 NV 4573"<end of copied portion of post> First, does anyone have a calculator? Second, I really find the implication that TG and WE should be sent to WV to pay for their sins really amusing. News flash, most of us could give a crap. Probably 20 people in a neighborhood of 1000 houses give a crap. Taking such pleasure in the mere thought of inflicting punishment on people is completely bizarre. Third, I just have to express my true surprise at the blind anger and rage over this whole situation which was apparent on my tour around the other board. I think the board-bashing along with the neighborhood bashing is passe'. I post on both using my real avatar; most have changed theirs but are recognizable by their posts. I don't see where you got the impression that WE & TG will be sent to WV to punish them from that post, although I have heard it around both boards. I think we should move past it. I do think it is a likely scenario to relieve crowding at NV if the 3rd HS fails for some reason. I have found the posters on the other board want a safe 3rd HS asap. All of us want to see the phase II and if all is well, lets get on with it, wherever.

Nothing should be sanitized as not everyone gets or reads the Sun or Herald.

All the rest is just smokescreen for snobbery and me,me,me. It is so sad. ========

Is this a personal attack? Is this from Feb. 17th? It is now March 28th. Thanks for keeping track. Point being, things get posted/typed that we all might later think better of because they may have been done in the heat of the moment. We're all adults and we should all be willing to accept some of the flak that might fly from time to time with regards to issues that cut to the core of people. We try to keep each other in check, but it's bound to happen.. so let it roll off your back when it does and move past it, like those who were on the receiving end of the 'snobbery' remark last month did.

Here's my personal favorite: "I'm also curious why it's OK for an entire subdivision to be built under main towers running through the suburbs. Feb 25, 2008" I highlighted the part I took the most offense at.

Time to re-holster the side-arms folks...
Point has been made, let's move beyond it.
