Concerned2 I think I'm going to write out my check to NSFOC. What the hell, I'm already being cast as a bad person. Have you read some of the LTE's lately. What the heck? It was the Chad Martinson LTE that sent me over the edge. And from what I've heard, the TG HOA has tried to stay neutral despite many requests to get involved. The LTE's being written about Tall Grass are concerning to the TG Board of Directors. It's borderline slander directed at an entire community. Slander towards an entire neighborhood. Simply wrong! I'm with you macy. I think I'll start doing a little fund raising for NSFOC - It seems they may be helping the SD/SB skippers to slow down and maybe look at a map, perhaps even check for stormy waters. It's not like they've never gotten lost at sea before. Wouldn't it be ironic if the reason they aren't rushing to the closing table with blinders on (like usual) is because they have to do major CYA because of the lawsuit? What if NSFOC ends up saving us from ourselves? they have to check the compass -- unlike Captain Jack Sparrows compass that doesn't point north - their's appears to be stuck on N --

Macy- Rather sensitive I think. And if you read exactly what I wrote was "There are people who don't want to see TG get rewarded by having the new school in their backyard". The fact is I live in WE and have a 5th grader who would greatly benefit if the school was built on the Macom property. For us it would be the best thing that could happen. However the feelings all over the district have always been the main objecters and NSFOC are primarily TG, (I said feeling). And I have heard alot of people openly say they want to see TG get screwed. In my 53 years I have never seen a SD rip itself apart like 204. I also know some members of the SB feel that way. (JC in particular) But then you already know that. Do I support the SB. Hell no. That would be like supporting George Bush. Like you indicated the waste of tax dollars has been mind boggling. If the SB was a corperation they would have gone under already. But they are going to get away with everything because we elected them. and didn't run anyone worthwhile in opposition. I don't have anything against TG. My kid is going to be at Scullen next year. What I do resent is what has happened to this school district. The luster has worn off some. All because of politics and incompetence.

All because of politics and incompetence. Seems that we agree on more than we disagree. Yet, I'm quite sick of the public beating that the Fry community has taken lately. A great majority of the LTEs, blogs place blame on the Tall Grass community. You state you don't have anything against Tall Grass, yet I've read your posts. If you place the majority of blame on "politics and incompetence", somehow I've missed that in your posts. Some of what you and others have posted on the proboards and multiple blogs has been a complete slamdown directed at the Tall Grass community. I have child at Neuqua and one at Scullen. Both are receiving a great educational experience. I'm as concerned as you are with the overcrowding at both schools as well as the similar situation at all middle school and high schools. I'm just so sick of the blame being placed on Tall Grass. The LTE, Blogs all point to my community as the villian in this situation. IN fact, some of the LTEs have been downright slander against the Tall Grass community as a whole. My skin is getting thicker with every attack against my neighborhood. I find it odd that many blame Tall Grass yet continue to allow the district/school board to put out mistruth, incomplete information, spin.

I am also sick of the subdivision labeling, Macy, and happy belated birthday BTW. This is just further dividing our district and it has to stop. All this taking sides, NSFOC vs. NSFOC-fraud, north vs. south.....I just want to go away for a few months and miss all this drama. Maybe I'll extend my spring break until June. Do you think it will be safe to come back then? Probably not!

Look ladies, we are all parents of children in this district, we all agree we want a safe school for our kids, let's stop the subidivision crap. Who cares where you live? All that matters is making the world a better place for our kids to live in and that starts by making this a great school district. There are good people and not so good people everywhere.

It's funny (sad funny, if that's possible) that of all things, I worry about the acceptance of children from some of the areas that are getting bashed when attending WV. I worry that once my children say where they are from, the words of their parents will come out of their mouths. I find myself today saying when asked where I live I say west of 59 off of Montgomery. On a side note, Sleepless, where ever you go, can I go? Away from all this. I tried. I painted a bathroom, moved kids bedrooms around, but I just read something that got to me and had to come back and post.

All I do is read all the negative posts, put out some of my own negative posts, wake up in the morning to negative newspaper stuff. Frankly, I'm numb. I've gone into Plan B mode- actually having my husband paint the house-maybe it would be healthy for me to help him. If the third HS fails, we will be moving.

This division has got to stop, it's killing us. I've had the opportunity to work with folks from all over the district in PTA and 204TK, and I've yet to meet anyone in TG or WE who even comes close to the stereotype some are inaccurately portraying. In fact, I can't think of one of them I don't hold in high regard. We need to challenge those who slander TG and WE, or any subdivision for that matter. It's childish at best. I'd also ask them to show me any subdivision who doesn't have their share of questionable characters.

I really think this TG bashing has ment to keep most from placing blame where it belongs. ON THE SB!! They started the have and have nots and started this vengence against TG. Like we4, I find myself afraid to tell people where I live. It has taken my husband and I a looooong time to get where we are. I have never felt I am above anyone, just because of where I live. This is not my first house in Naperville. The old house I was judged by where I lived too, now several years later I am a snob. I am totally sick of the labelling and the double standards. Those in the north really want to paint people who live in big houses as snobs, that we don't want to go to WV. The SB made boundaries that were totally political, they have dragged this district through hell for the past two years. They are the ones to blame.
I too think the TG/WE kids will be labelled at WV because of what they have heard from their parents. This works both ways folks and like I said it makes me want to write out my check. I will donate to loaves and fishes too.

Do you think it will be safe to come back then? Probably not! Thanks for the birthday wishes, although I'm kinda old am and trying real hard to ignore my birthday. I've had enough of the bashing that Tall Grass and White Eagle have taken over this situation. There are many in 204 outside of Tall Grass and White Eagle that are upset at what is going on. Both neighborhoods (Tall Grass and White Eagle) have supported the third high school where many northern neighborhoods have not. Now they blame Tall Grass for being against a third high school? Those that led the Vote no campaign are pointing the finger at Tall Grass and White Eagle residents? Do they really think we don't remember their names? I don't place blame on any neighborhood in 204 for the situation we are all in. I place blame on the district and school board. The buck stops with the 204 administration and school board. For example, the site selection report is INCOMPLETE. They are the ones trying to put the blame on others. Nice try, I'm not buying it. As I've posted my skin gets thicker by the day. The LTEs and opinion editorials slamming TG and WE need to stop. They are slanderous, in my opinion.

The loaves and fishes food pantry is in need of funds and supplies. I would recommend to anyone considering sending money to NFUD to instead think of a more productive and community minded cause. I don't think anyone is a bad person; emotions are just too high right now. sushi, you were the one who sent me over the edge to send money to NSFOC last week with your one sided slanted comments. This is a new bigger wave of bashing that will certainly be a great recruiting tool for nsfoc to get more money.

Do they have land we can condemn for a new school? ;D Funny you ask Webe204, there is talk on the "green" board about condemning the AME land. YIKES! I would never condemn "church land". Talk about bad Karma.... I would like to defend the poster who (in her words) asked a "stupid" question - why wouldn't the SB condemn the Church property? It was not a suggestion but more an observation about how things are going in this district. It's better not to let rumors like this get started; there's enough crap around already.

I hit my limit early this week with the Tall Grass/White Eagle bashing. I'm pretty sure that others in my community have as well. How sad! I've had enough of people telling me that I'm "anti-WVHS", "anti-third high school", "racist", "selfish", etc. As I've stated, the recent LTEs have put me over the edge.

So sorry to send you over the edge AE. $204 would probably buy a week of food for 2 families, maybe more.
I really don't think this NSFOC thing will take off; your $204 is financing Shaun's Bermuda vaca.

I will donate to loaves and fishes too. I agree; the blame should be on the school board. We would not have the anomosity in this district between residents right now if what the school board presented during the referendum was actually happening.....a 3rd high school at BB. Sure, some were not happy with that, but a majority were happy with it and demonstrated that at the polls. Personally, I am not convinced that BB is off the table until we know what the damages award is for leaving BB. I am not in favor of NO 3rd high school (that is not an option), but I will not be happy if the sb moves ahead on Eola before they know the true cost of BB. Even more importantly, do not move forward until an INDEPENDANT source can deem the site safe and release this info to the public! We need to stop the name calling and realize that the poor judgement of the school board is to blame for where we are today; not residents of White Eagle, Tall Grass or Brookdale. Having said that, this is not a personal attack against the school board. I find many of them to be wonderful people whom I admire. BUT, they've made some mistakes which cause me to second-guess them from now on. I am sure we do this with others in our lives whom we love and respect. They can be great people but do stupid things sometimes.
