Good point Parent....not to mention all the other towns with both swimming and tennis available. ...we might end up having an old crabby person shooting a college student who accidentally stepped on their lawn. ....or EagleDad the skeet shooter. I thought birds didn't shoot their own kind?

Although the following is in regards to outdoor courts, if no one attends the meeting or speaks up, the PD will probably assume no one cares about tennis. So if you care, this is a good chance to let the PD know that you want those courts relocated INSIDE. www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/133226,6_1_NA12_TENNIS_S1.article Parks discuss tennis courts November 12, 2006 sun staff The Naperville Park District is looking for community input on the relocation of the Ranchview Park tennis courts that were closed earlier this year. An information session will be held Nov. 21 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. in meeting rooms B and C. The tennis courts rest atop two, three-million gallon underground water storage reservoirs operated by the city, Park District officials said. The play surface of the courts was constructed from a lightweight concrete mixture in order to serve as the ceiling for the water reservoir. But, due to the composition of the play surface and many years of use, the tennis courts have deteriorated to an unusable state, Park District officials said. Display boards of the Ranchview Park site will be at the information session, where residents will be able to view the service area of the park and proposed alternative locations for the tennis courts. For more information, contact Park District Director of Planning Eric Shutes at 630-848-5014.

Thanks for the info!
This is another example of the typical BS from the Naperville Park District concerning tennis. The only way they justify any sort of tennis priority is if it can double as a lid to a gigantic water reservoir.
According to officials at the NPD: The only acceptable alternative location for the new courts would be to double as a lid to a radioactive or toxic waste dump.
