This guy didn't help though That guy also said he bought 8 months ago. Not a clue. Not too bright to go to a district meeting and trash a school in the district.

Fry had the most people at the meeting tonight. The most speakers, the most prepared, and documented presentations. We were ignored in a way that can be described no other way than complete disrespect. They came in knowing their plan, and did not acknowledge us, or the lies we were fed about the bridge. Fry ended up with: * THE longest commute @ a supposed 33min. (own was 35min, but has been corrected) *the ONLY walkers turned to bussers (Yes the board even stated part of fry would be walkers to NVHS, and Jim Stoner of Idot said there would be no reimbursement for parts of Fry next year to NVHS) *The only elementary from it's middle school to be pulled out to a different high school attendance (oh & the 7 kids from Peterson will join us!) THANKS FOR LISTENING TO THE VOICES OF THE PARENTS OF FRY! "Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education." - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Obviously this quote does not pertain to anyone in the ipsd 204 Administration or the SB. How sad and pathetic. I almost have no words to describe what is occuring here. Fry doen't matter to the SB, Administration, or even most of our 204 community. The corruption and bias is so obvious but people turn a blind eye. Instead they accuse us of being snobs, selfish, and whiners. Fry is the disposable community in this district and it is proven over and over and over again. We don't have a voice in the system so we don't matter. I challenge anyone to show me ONE single instance in which ANY of the SB or the Administration (Principals included) are inconvenienced by these boundaries in ANY way. John Stephens can now wave at his West Owen friends as he drives past them on his way to WV. Maybe they are disposable too. What about Watts? No representation either. Disposable. I also challenge my under- represented friends to continue this fight. It is time for drastic measures. It is also time to involve outside authorities. I will be in full support of any legal action taken and in fact will continue researching what recourse we have at the state / federal level. The gauntlet has been thrown. It's our turn to pick it up. Nice, polite, factual, and logical presentations got us nowhere. Time for phase 2. The end is not in sight. This is only the beginning. This is no longer about boundaries. Go ahead and waste your money on a frivolous lawsuit that won't be heard or delay the building.

This guy didn't help though One guy out of at least 70 speakers spoke in that manner and he was booed and the next speaker spoke said that is not how we feel.

I think most people aren't buying the idea that we "knew we were moving". The site completely changed, and so did alot of the boundaries. So to come way down in the south and pick basically one area hasn't gone over so well. Shout all you want, I don't think you'll change people's minds here. And anyone who thought it was just a few people who were upset, well, they know now that's not the case. Gonna need a bigger megaphone.

Everyone is new at one time or another. Waubonsee is fine for TG; the biggest problem it is not what we were told that would happend. It was the new high school at BB. Than it was hey we don't have BB here is what you get a school miles from your home when you are across the street from the one you go to now. our kids are active; in before school stuff as well as after school sports. Driving a mile is alot quicker than driving 5 to drop off/pick up them. We moved to TG because we are close to NV.

That's just old spin. And predictable. Plus, Dr. D's use of the word entitlement came at the very beginning of the night. The guy you're referring to was closer to the end. I knew though that some people would try to use his words against the whole neighborhood. It really doesn't matter - I think most people get the game.

Unfortunately, that person proved Dr D's point.

Unfortunately, that person proved Dr D's point. So you're saying that because one person says something, they can paint an entire area. And treat them differently? It seems that's the gig - label an entire subdivision as outcasts and then treat them in a manner inconsistent with other areas. Then say it was justified because one person said or did something. We all know this is complete BS - we've seen and heard comments from many people over the last few years that were disrespectful or politically incorrect - it certainly hasn't been limited to one area - but this is the strategy to deal with TG IMO. I wonder if that's legal? What about the first amendment?

No, I did not say that.
My point is that is the Super mentions entitltement. Don't go up mention that you are from a certain area and say " I bought in Naperville to go to a Naperville school not an Aurora school".

Yep I understand -- look at Watts parents -- last night they were effectively shut out of volunteering to help at HS during the week and many will not see their kids perform if they play in early games -- thank you SB & ADMIN An extra 20-30 mins each way in rush hour at the end of the work day make that kind of difference - but I know they don't care anyway. They desparately wanted a northern school- and that's what they will have -

O.K., I've been watching this blog and after last night's meeting I have to comment.
Bob, we all know that's an attitude that doesn't represent all of us. You have to realize that this guy bought here 8 months ago and that was probably a consideration for him. I'm sorry if you don't like it and most of us who have lived here any length of time know the quality of the two schools, but he is honestly stating his intent when he bought. He probably said to his agent that he wanted a Naperville school.
I think he was way out of line in his comments, but I also think that if you try to put yourself in his shoes, you can see that he might be in a tailspin. He just came into the district and everything got changed up on him.
The one thing he said that I didn't get is he thought his kids were going to Neuqua. At the time he moved in, his realtor SHOULD have told him Metea but realtors could try to gloss over it and say they go to Neuqua right now.

That man only represents himself just like I don't think Macy, Lacy, and Casey represent all of Fry. That man should have thought things out before he spoke.
