I just got back from a course at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. One thing that was brought up is that different parts of the country have vastly different values...Texas seems to be leading the way in puritan values...IMHO.
So this does not surprise me at all....

Let's not blame puritan values or the values of the good people of Texas for this event. There is nothing wrong with high morals. Seems more like this one needs to get chalked up to stupidity. That's something we find that all over this great country of ours. 1. It's an art museum. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about history and art knows that an art museum is going to have depictions of naked people. Sheesh. 2. The school approved the field trip. 3. The parents said it was okay for the kid to go. If I were that teacher and could prove that non renewal of my contract had to do with the field trip, I'd sue their asses.
