I'm just curious, but why even reply to someone like ru4real??? He/She is not adding any facts or good conversation about mediation. This poster's hate and anger are the reasons behind the great divide in this district. Player and rural have brought great discussion to this board and have brougtht great FACTS, not insults.
ru4real your insulting and nonunderstanding posts are the reason why people are involved in a lawsuit. Keep it up, maybe NSFOC can get more members tonight!!!!

It's fun to reply to ru4real/aka magneto/aka Chad because his arguments are all so empty - he's easy to blast.
It's just sport, really.

I'm trying to recall my mental notes from before, but I don't believe they support anything D204 actually does and harbor a loathing towards others in general, especially anyone who appears to be 'complaining' about anything or even discussing concerns. The one-size fits all (Good for me, therefore you too / aka: shut up and quit your b!tching) mentality is hard to forget, especially when delivered with a sense of disgust. Did I leave anything out RU?

I'm a nincompoop...please explain i am sleepy so I will do Algebra 101 348 posters divided by dual poster names equal 174 posters divided by number of students in the district...(by the Sb prediction for 2009 it is approx 28,000 students) equals the percentage of people who are outraged enough to come here and post. Do the Algebra 101 on green mathwiz.

I read the paper this morning with the mediation story and now just went through this thread. #204 just keeps sinking lower and lower. Just more wasted money which is what we are so good at. One interesting note. Yesterday I was at a friends in River Run. There were people from Clow and Builta there as well. They know very little about the details everyone here pours over nor do they care. Its just funny how the SE side of the district doesn't consider what goes on in the rest of the district. 204 is so fragemented. I have taken the position now that the district should be split. For all purposes it is already split- forever.

I had friends who said the same thing after the last referendum. Do you even begin to realize the complication involved with "splitting a district"? There are much more simple ways to mend this rift.

I attempted to when someone said they are safe because they have ACV on the pipelines. I asked where they are and how close are they on both sides of the property because both directions will vent and release pressure back to the valves. The statute reads that as a HCA, each point along the pipeline must be within 2.5 miles of a valve. That really means they can be up to 5 miles apart from each other. The amount of gas that exists at 700PSI for 700 feet (the approximate length of the property) compared to the volume of gas that exists over 5 miles of pipes (the upper limit of the legal requirement for a HCA) or 26,400 feet is a HUGE difference. If the sh!t hits the fan, venting 700 feet of gas is far better than venting 26,400 feet of gas. We're talking about cutting the worst case scenerio potential to 1/37th what it might be right now. Still, I would like to know exactly where (on both sides of the property) the valves are located and the distance between them today. Here's an opportunity to take the wind out of the sails of people concerned about pipeline safety and actually MAKE A DIFFERENCE ABOUT THE REAL SAFETY. Will they do it? It's not a HCA at the moment, but will be when we put a school there so there exists the possibility that the pipeline companies have to do something about it anyway because the distance requirements are tighter for HCAs than areas that are not HCA. Arch: The 20" pipes don't concern me too much - their PIR is significantly lower. The 36" lines however have a much greater PIR. An interesting thing I noted on the Kinder Morgan report was the fact that as the site became occupied, it would become a Class 3 risk, which means they have to do internal pipeline integrity checking every seven years. Coincidentally, or maybe not, this is scheduled for 2008 for the 36" pipeline. The 20" lines were checked earlier in 2006 I believe. This means the gas flow has to be shut down - perfect time for ACVs and pipeline changes. Even if just the 36" lines are changed out, that will make a significant difference. I have done some detailed analysis of pipeline safety that I will post soon (its very tedious and technical!), but I will make note of this. Good thought. Don't know if Kinder Morgan will agree, as it will cost them a bundle, but its worth putting pressure on them, IMHO. Maybe Linda Holmes can intercede here as she did with MWGEN? ;D Stay tuned.... BTW, can someone PM me and tell me how to insert pictures in posts? There are some graphs I need to post. Cheers. Due to the close proximity of these three pipelines, a failure of one pipe will likely cause the other two to fail. What's the PIR for the simultaneous failure of two 36" pipes and one 20" pipe?

Very surreal thread . . . folks: This is obiously a board-baiting quest or the individual is inebriated.... in either case, it does not dignify a response.Cheers. just read all of what was written last night, wow! Clow and Builta don't care because nothing changes for them except they get less kids at their kids' schools. When the tax bills go up in a few years, then they will be crying and complaining. Or maybe they won't mind paying $1000 more a year because they will feel like it's worth it. I don't really get it.

It is unlikely this rift will ever be mended even after its all over. The wounds are too deep. The hatreds and distrust are too strong. Neighborhoods and schools have been negatively labled. That is why a split is needed complicated or not. This mess has proven people in the district will never accept others. And two new SB will be more attentive to their peoples needs.

If it doesn't effect you personally one doesn't care, if they aren't one to get involved. They will care when they see their taxes go up. But they won't understand why they went up.

Cue the violins. ;D Seriously, it's not all doom and gloom. I'm from the north and I know there are a lot of really cool people in the south. I know people from the south that feel the same way about the north. Right, SSM? There are bad apples in the bunch (there were before and there will be after), but it doesn't mean it has to spoil all of us. Rise above. Others will either rise with you or rot on the bottom. The choice will be theirs. Kids are the equalizing factor. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Kids don't care where other kids live. It's not the first question out of their mouths when they meet someone new. It usually doesn't even come into the conversation until they want to hang out at each others houses. They will be the ones making new friends and bringing the neighborhoods back together. Now, if you're talking about voters and the SB. That's a totally different can of worms, and I'm not touching that one. They are on their own.

I absolutely agree. And I will add that the current SB clearly does not represent the entire district. I believe they have orchestrated the ill-will. And the hatefulness some of them have demonstrated to certain sections of the district is mind-boggling. Since it seems the egos involved will preclude their resignations, then we should split the district. Several areas are not fairly represented. The SB president has not hidden his disdain. IAnd I find the whole thinng quite simply revolting.
