Last night I talked to someone who works at Peterson. No damage reported. FUD??? Harry, I only stated what was told to me last night. I will admit, I am ready to believe scarbroughknight's report over what I heard. SBK's wife's report seems much more reliable than my causal encounter. Sounds like some significant damage. I am hoping to hear more about it.

If you stated something that you did not know as fact, I would use the term that everyone on this board uses...FUD I wouldn't report anything heard from a casual encounter as fact if I didn't know it to be true. That's how bad rumors and miscommunication starts. Thanks for believing in SBK's wife.

I emailed Mark Metzger, I really hate being accused of spreading FUD. Anyway, here is my reply:
I just checked with Jay Strang on Peterson. If anything is happening, facility-wise, he'd know.
The only problem at Peterson concerned a roof louver (louvre?) which allowed the sideways rain to partially enter. That event dampened a handful of ceiling tiles, which have already been replaced. The roofing contractor is constructing a sheet metal shield to protect the louver from horizontal rain incursion in the future.
Jay considered that (and I agree with him) so minor that it didn't even rate as "storm damage." Storm damage is major water incursion leading to drywall repairs, carpet replacement, etc. It is not a minor incident whose immediate effect is entirely corrected by replacing a few ceiling tiles and whose permanent solution involves a couple of dollars' worth of sheet metal.

Harry:
As far as pointing out FUD, do you recall making this post:
"Major issues from a 3 year old school that is just beginning to be used this year??? Does disrepair happen due to lack of use??"
?
That is FUD. Stating there is a MAJOR ISSUE there.
Gatormom instead just relayed what someone had told her and she specifically spelled it out as hearsay information
So please, calm down about it unless you know something specifically further.

Major issues from a 3 year old school that is just beginning to be used this year??? Does disrepair happen due to lack of use?? That would depend on the source of the problem. For example, if you did not start your car in 3 years and you had a fuel problem, then time not using it could certainly be a factor. If it was a manufacturing defect in the computer that would have cracked the solder due to extreme temperatures whether you used it or not, that's something else. Then, thanks for answering my above......'statement' ;D

I think usually it's to clarify and add balance to the mis-tilted 'questions' that you do constantly pose. If I were to post one like: Will you ever stop trying to undermine the school board and the will of the voting district at every opportunity? Then you might take offense to that insinuation. I could always kindly point out that it was simply a question and you are reading too much into it. So, that being said.. I think people can do their own homework to interpret for themselves how things were 'meant'. Back on point.. nice to see that the 'damage' was not 'major'.

Thanks to my 'mis-tilted' questions regarding FUD to gatormom, he researched the 'no damage' topic and, lo and behold, our SB confirmed that their were tiles that needed replacing and this board received the truth. There is rhyme and reason to keeping one 'at odds' with you close at hand, ma friend, instead of trying to eliminate them Peace

There is rhyme and reason to keeping one 'at odds' with you close at hand, ma friend, instead of trying to eliminate them Peace I think I will celebrate the vigilance tonight w/ a nice Merlot. I believe you are (in some cases) having paranoid types of interpretations on postings. No one is trying to eliminate you. That would be one click on a web page. Hasn't happened. Let's examine another in the Title1 thread: "That's why I questioned mom24...the comment to ME implied a 'nanny nanny boo boo' theme. This divisiveness is what clearly brings the whole district down." Stating as a fact what you INTERPRET Mom24's comment to be, then to go on saying it's bringing the whole district down. I don't believe there was any 'nanny nanny boo boo' to it nor do I think her post is bringing down the district. Again, thank you for your community service in pointing out these facts that clearly plague our district.

Major issues from a 3 year old school that is just beginning to be used this year??? Does disrepair happen due to lack of use?? The EagleDad decoder ring says that whenever I see three question marks at the end of a sentence, the FUD warning level goes to FUD-4. Two sentences back to back like that and it's an all-out FUD-5, time to scramble the national FUD defense forces. ;D
