In addition, the date for the Fine Arts Festival is listed and shows it to be at NVHS. Doesn't a Fine Arts Festival also exist at WVHS? I honestly don't know but I presume one does. Shouldn't Scullen students be told about the happenings at WVHS as well.

I am very eager to embrace WVHS, I just don't feel the love.

I truly do not want to be Debbie Downer here , but this is not fair to the 8th grade kids at Scullen who will be going to WVHS. If it was your child I am sure you might feel the same way.

The no brainer, quick solution might be just advertise both functions (ex: choir open house) then individuals can chose which one to attend. Maybe there is more complexity, i dont know. Maybe for things like Fine Arts Festival....they can be alternated btw various HS. Hopefully, this gets worked out in reasonable way.

That is all I am suggesting. If information is given to the Scullen kids about high school activities such as football game attendance rules, chorus open houses, a Fine Arts Festival , BOTH high schools should be included , not only NVHS.

As far as Still goes,you are right the situation is different since the kids from Still that will go to MV do not yet have a building, BUT they have been receiving update emails with alot of information from Jim Schmid regarding MV progress. Infact, I think I mentioned in a previous post that I would surmise that the parents of future MV kids feel good about having such an open line of communication with their new school. It's nice that they are getting these kids excited about becoming Mustangs. I'm not feeling that at all with WVHS thus far and would like to see that change. We have yet to receive ANY KIND of communication directed towards our presence at WVHS.

Sure people have suggested I sign onto the list serve for WVHS to get info....that is not the point. (I did do that By the Way).

I would have replied sooner but was out of town. Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly with your concerns, and was merely trying to provide some added detail. I'm hoping that you will find that it was lost in the beginning of the school year rush and that they take steps to provide information on both high schools for the students who are split. If that is not the case, I think you've done a good job of putting it on the right radar screens.

Also, I was not trying to suggest that one high school does things better than another, but merely that they are not exaclty the same in every way. Some people seem to be uncomfortable with that, but I think it's healthy that all of the schools have a "personality" that's somewhat unique.
