Well the day is here, and for me, no matter what day was scheduled as the last, it is my last day as an Elementary School parent. Nine years at Gombert. Now one child goes on to middle school and my other child starts at the high school.

Regarding the last day being an hour - if it is a state mandate, why doesn't it apply to kindergarten? My kindergartener's last day was Friday. It was a full (half) day.
Regarding the made up snow days - my understanding is that 203 took away one of their scheduled days off in early May so the school year was only extended by one day. I think if necessary, we should have done that to avoid the last one hour of school extending over the weekend.

Not thinking in the SALY mentality and, if, extenuating circumstances present themselves, then CHANGE THE PLAN to make sense. 203...ahead of the curve again.

However, don't forget that we had less school holidays, with only, was it one 1/2-day? It might not have been possible to alter the school holiday schedule based on this. I don't think that it was earth-shattering to have the last day today - it kinda stunk, but we've probably all survived. And, just because 203 made their change doesn't make them so much better or smarter than 204 - 203 would have been done several days earlier, regardless. You know, some of the comparisons between 203 and 204, while unavoidable can get silly sometimes.

That makes about as much sense as:
North and Central HS.. located near downtown Naperville...
203 ahead of the curve again!!!

That makes about as much sense as: North and Central HS.. located near downtown Naperville... 203 ahead of the curve again!!! AS 203 if they have their grades on line , updated daily ? Ask them about dashboard reviews and interventions. Ask them about how much money is needed to uncrowd their schools and improve the physical plants. Ask them about the tax refund that stayed with the board -- No school district is perfect -- even 203 -- gasp ! I agree Arch, I just don't understand comments like that, if 204 is that bad, lots of real estate on the market in 203 -- just in time to vote for the referendum to rebuild Central.... ahead of the curve 'again' my eye.....
