Yes, we have children learning in hallways and stairwells in many buildings in the district. We also have some LMC's that have been partitioned off for classroom space. This should not come as a surprise to anyone. Yet, they did not address the boundaries at those levels in the Spring of 2008 to fix this and we have many schools well under utilized this year. 3 letters come to mind: W T F Which schools have regular classes in stairwells? That sounds like a fire-code violation.

Why change boundaries when you can just purchase portables?
Remember how often the district demonized portables? Now apparently they are the best solution to overcrowding, even as other schools, neighboring schools no less, have empty seats.

See, if you say you were going to purchase some then say you are not, that's REVENUE to be used to build a high school... then, you just go ahead and purchase them anyway since, like you said, there is other room throughout the district that can be utilized. ...and you never go back and remove the counted revenue used to show you can 'afford' to build a high school. In the private sector, many people would lose their jobs for this gross negligence.

It appears Dr D will garner a contract extension for this gross negligence, I mean, creative accounting. Maybe his magic with numbers could land him a sweet spot at AIG!
