Do we know for sure that the SB will keep the public updated on the progress of the BB hearing? I doubt it...IMHO

wvhsparent, does it loose too much formatting if you copy/paste the text out of the PDF?

I don't know who the Brach heirs are, however, I remember reading something about the Brodie Foundation - they are an animal charity. I'm wondering if letters and private donations from members of our community would soften the Brodie side of the trust - this can get done without a jury trial, right? If the Brach/Brodie attorneys would agree to negotiate instead of go to trial this would go more quickly, right?
Are we willing to hold a fundraiser / letter writing campaign for the Brodie Foundation?

That name would be fine if they donated the land and were not bashing us over the head with legal proceedings.

Costco High, brought to you by your good friends at Brach. Brach would like to remind you, when you buy candy, buy it in bulk at Costco.
Can you imagine the vending machines in that school?

As much as we would all like to see the new HS open in 2008, do we have the funding to run it? I thought we would need another referendum and that wasn't scheduled until 2009.

gatormom,
Let's ask the foundation for a 1 year funding grant to run the school, which would be taken out of the sale proceeds!
Its a win-win for the foundation and the kids! (not to mention the taxpayers)

Again (and I realize I'm just some anonymus face out here), this group is not even remotely reasonable to work with. As far as the building of a Costco, this was one of the more difficult and prolonged land acquisitions. That warehouse was planned to be open years earlier than what occurred. There is no reason for them (BB) to be even remotely cooperative or hurry this along. Also, as trustees of the estate, they are legally-bound to work to get the highest price possible. BTW - I like the idea of Costco High - but we don't currently sell Brach products!

That is why the SD nneds to keep on the courts. Luckily DuPage is pretty quick and things don't drag on forever. But on the same token the SD ought keep a close eye on the BB folks. The 1st sign they are looking to prolong....the SD should cut and run to the next site, selling back the 25 acres they already have. IMHO
