I agree with Casey. You bring up a lot of good points allowing others to look at the issues from a different perspective.

Lacy, Lacy, Lacy, please don't get thrown off the board. Your postings are always a refreshing (if even antagonistic) view. It's always fun to read your postings even if they do get many riled up . I guess your warning should tell you to "cool it a notch". Don't step over the line, we need your voice! Casey, for a moment today I had an extreme hankering to go out in a blaze of glory. I just get tired of the "spin". But O.K., I'll go back to being "good Lacy". I don't want to see you go either. It is always nice to get both sides of the story. BTW- I too received those emails to an account that I only use for business and for registering for this message board. I don't even get junk emails there. Could our email addresses have been compromised?

So the only people who received this email are - KK, mustangpride, and driven? What?!?? Who is KK? If it's Kevin Knight to whom you're referring, I doubt this is the same email we're talking about here. I received several emails from someone with the first name of Usha. This person also forwarded on an email for someone with the first name of Judd. I know the last names but do not actually know either of these individuals. I will also refrain from publishing the last names because I believe in confidentiality on these boards.

And yes, Kevin Knight refers to this email on his website.

Hey lacy, I agree. Sitting here floored that we've got more of the same coming our way in terms of fiscal responsibility- at least we have a place to state that here-- or we should at least. If you review the vote totals it's obvious that complacency is not dead. at least not in Naperville. Now on to what's best for the kids- a new school that they can be proud of. Don't forget the gym.

Welcome aboard giveourkidsagym. I too like you, shift gears tonight to ensuring we do the 3rd high school right and make the most of our dolllars. Hopefully, we can all agree to this, and not short-changing it or cutting corners!

ED, I agree. The vote is what the vote is. Time to push forward and implement the plan.
If Macom wants to come back to the table to address the obvious problems (cost, power lines, rail lines, city/county/district technicalities, traffic etc) on a plan B site with something more of substance than a verbiage dismissal of them being inconsequential then awesome. In the meantime, end of Summer is the date for BB.
In addition, if anyone is worried about fiscal irresponsibility then schedule an appointment to meet face to face w/ a board member or an administrator of the respective area of your concern. All it takes is an email or a phone call and you could sit down w/ them and talk face to face and go over your ideas. They are open to input. Just be sure to come to the table with your homework done. Short of that the pop shots from the cheap seats will be seen for what they are.

Archwinsome
You'd probably be surprised to know that I'm a college graduate who is bright enough to know when there are issues surrounding the use of tax dollars. I also work and never go to a meeting unprepared--what a great idea to meet with the board. It's hilarious to think that they'd welcome that. Also, I've got $1000 that your kids aren't even close to going to the new high school so if you want to talk about pop shots from the cheap seats, sounds like you've got that covered here. It's easy to act like this when your kids will go to Nequa, safely attending varsity football games on Friday night with their friends. On the south side of Chicago we call that armchair qarterbacking.

I too grew up on the South Side of Chicago for 23 years - so let's not represent everyone from there - as I would not call it that, as Arch lives in my area here now and his kids will indeed be going to MV, so maybe Arch will contact you about his $1000. You'd be surprised at how receptive the board members are to people, who approach them with rational discussions - try it before you start shooting people without all the facts. You might find many here have much more in common with you than you think.

If you would have dug around on here you would know I have a kid at WVHS, one at Hill and 2 at Watts. My area is also slated to go to MVHS per the boundaries set last year. You can keep your $1000 but I do thank you very kindly for the offer. Have you tried meeting with any of them or the Administration? I have on a few occasions and found it productive.
