HAHAHAHA! Oh, my stomach hurts from laughing so hard. He might have well have just said "Oh yeah, those bus times for Pet, Fry, Watts, Owen W, Gom E, Cow? Yeah, we just made 'em up and know they are complete bulls!t. Everyone knew we were lying about it but the school board played right along. Now I am going to pretend I fell in a ditch and traffic heading north suddenly became a problem." Welcome to the predictable fatal personality flaw: Can not admit they were wrong and will start changing things, no matter how utterly and completely ridiculous those changes are to support the original wrong assertion. " and the busses go round and round -- zooom - they're so fast -- all times become the same.... and here we have Watts as part of the 7 northern schools ....yadda yadda -- oh pay no attention to that I wasn't drawing boundaries --( yea right ) - DR. D @ 1/22 meeting

Lately, I understand he's been consulting his liquor and medicine cabinets for advice on what moves to make. In addition, he has placed lonely guy cutouts in his office for additional support and companionship. I've heard they just love the AME site choice and they unanimously support all of Dash's actions. What the h*ll are you doing out here, Fred? This is Ground Zero. This is my site. I can fix. I can fix this.

This move sounds like split shifts to me. (although i think this version is a good idea)
but......
Before the referendum:
"If you guys don't pass the ref and get the 3rd high school, then we will be going to a DOOMSDAY SCENARIO which would involve split shifts, WVHS will be overcrowded, and Fry and WE may be moved to WVHS". "Just so you are clear on what you are voting for, the BB site will have these colors, mascot, and these boundaries". "Just make it happen!!!".
After we passed the referendum and voted in all the SB members:
"Screw you guys...what fools! Remember all those threats we made...we are actually going to DO THEM ANYWAY!!!!! DIE SUCKERS!!DOOMSDAY IS HERE!!!"
"And for you meddling kids that think you have a say into your own school's colors and mascot!!...JUST SIT DOWN and let the adults talk" You're time is up...literally!!!

I wouldn't mind an earlier ES school start time so they could get out earlier. Hard to fit in an activity and still get homework and dinner done for an 8:00 bed time. The older kids stay up later than the little ones do. Getting out at 2:30 or 3:00 would be sweet. We used to live in District 203 where our ES kids started at 8:15 and got out at 2:30. It was so nice for playdates, sports, RE, etc. Having that extra hour really is a good thing.

There are 24 hours in a day. How one wishes to shift their own body clock and schedule does not change the fact that there are still only 24 hours in a day. No extra hour is gained by anything. The day does not become 25 hours long because District 204 says so.

CLEARLY it shows that we have an extra hour in our day now and all research in the area supports that"

That same extra hour is currently a good thing for 204 high school students who have activities, jobs, studying, and a social life. Agreed. I was just thinking the older kids stay up later, so they don't have an 8 p.m. stop. When the ES kids get off the bus at about 4:00, we really only have 4 hours until bed time. The older kids probably stay up until 10, so they would have 6 hours. (And no Arch, I can't change my ES kids's bed time. They just wake up at the same early hour with much more crabbiness!) The ideal thing would be to stop the 3 tiered bussing so they could all go the same hours. I think Dr D's original plan was to go to a 2 tier system by eliminating the double high school bussing with the Gold campus and then to use those busses for ES. I think I heard that he determined that was unworkable in terms of cost (even before the MV site change), so this must be plan B.

He probably had to use the extra busses to try to make the Watts, Cowlishaw and Fry times work. In some areas I think it's one student per bus.

The day does not become 25 hours long because District 204 says so. True... but not all hours are created equal it seems. In my house if school started an hour later the high-schoolers would wake up an hour later in the morning so that hour would be spent sleeping. They would lose an hour in the afternoon between the time they got home and the end of their day (call it what you will, curfew, bedtime, whatever). If ES started an hour earlier than we would have to start getting my grade-schooler to bed earlier (she goes to sleep between 10 & 10:30 most nights, up at 7:30 to leave at 8:30am). She would gain time home in the afternoon (but lose time in the evening) and instead of being watched by older siblings who get home earlier than she does, I would have to leave work earlier than I do now.

What is the cost/benefit throughout this district for this 'proposal'? Does one exist to arrive at some of his conclusions or is this yet another case of backfilling?

All he is trying to do is take the focus off of the ridiculous boundaries, the contaminated site, the horrendous leadreship, and the list could go on and on.....basically trying to divide 204 even more....
