Until someone shows me differently I do have concerns -- a school is no place to take any risk on that front. As far as the commute, should there have to be a rep on the board to get that point across. They are all bright people on the board which tells me we got ignored for some other reason. No one can call it URGENT to move an area 2 minutes south of us, yet then not even acknowledge the fact we have a concern. I would imagine you'll see several candidates from the Watts area in April 09. A little too long to wait for those of us with 8th graders today. I do feel your pain and I do still feel more could have been done for you. then you understand why we were there - a solid group of us -- because we are out of options. We did not go out and seek this option, by being ignored totally - this is what we have left. also as for why the group didn't start sooner- well in fact they did - the group there yesterday as I undersand it is the coalition of several separate groups who were all working on their own prior to recently - so it did not just start after the boundaries - it started after site selection -- so please do not paint this as bondaries only - that is false.

doc tried to get on the board before, but alas did not make it. there were 2 other Watts candidates also for that opening as well- yes I did make it to the finals but another was selected at the time. So it's not like we are unwilling - and in the meantime all 3 did a lot of support work for the district - and served in other school capacities. Run again, I'll vote for you.
