As for the teachers union, why would you ever go along with this? When teachers are given a paycheck, that creates a duty to the State, in the form of remitting withholding taxes. Even if the legislature goes along with this, which I doubt, how and when will you verify that your withheld taxes have been properly accounted for as far as the State is concerned? Does the teacher's Union even have a say in this? I bet you they don't, no more than a corporate employee can tell their corporation to pay the payroll taxes. Aren't there penalties for non-payment? Would we, the taxpayers, end up paying them? How many more kids in each class will we have to have to cover that?
