Sushi, I can tell you this for a fact. My child comes home and there are kids at her MS who when this was announced told her how happy they were they didn't have to go to the 'old' school any more- thay were getting a brand new one. Where do you think these kids got that ? Did they make it up or hear it at home ? Are there others there truly sad to leave WV - you bet - but not all. If you remember some of my posts then, it was some of the things upsetting my daughter as she always wanted to go to Waubonsie. So let's not pretend some of that No vote wasn't because they wanted a new high school- no different than some of the issue around you is people who do not want to go to WV. One area doesn't walk around with halo's while another carries their pitchforks. There are many reasons in every area. so it's not fuel to the fire - it is reality we live every day Yes, it's reality. I've got a HS kid at NV who came home and said one of her teachers brought up the whole boundary decision in class and then made the comment "it's funny that now all the rich kids from Tall Grass and White Eagle have to go to Waubonsie". Thankfully, I've taught my daughter to stand up for herself and she pointed out that she's from TG and that just isn't ok to make that kind of statement. Keep in mind, this was a teacher not a kid making the comment. Nice, huh? Maybe said teacher was unhappy with WE LTE writer questioning the competency of the NV teaching staff. But that is no excuse for lashing out in front of the kids.

This comment was made WAY before that letter. In fact, it took place right after boundaries were announced and even before the lawsuit was filed. Bottom-line is there's ugliness all around. FWIW, I thought it took a LOT of guts for the LTE author to state comments dissing the NV teaching staff! Yikes, I hope their kids are long gone from that school. Let's face it, you have to sign your real name to the LTEs . It was a sad comment to trash the whole school's teaching staff.

The bottom line here is that because of all of the mistakes etc., it has ripped this district apart - going from the students to the parents to the teachers to the administration to the SB. I sit here and read this blog, Sun blog, and the two other blogs regarding the lawsuit. This is no doubt a REAL big mess for all concerned. Subdivision against subdivision, teacher against student, SB against parents - I'm not sure what the answer is. What I do feel is that everything should just stop. Before we dig ourselves into a hole we cannot get out of.
This district needs to regroup - start from square one. They used to have a committee for public opinion. Where is that? They could really use it now. There are so many disputes going on from enrollment numbers to safety of the land. From lawusit damages to our OWN attorney fees (which we still don't know how much that is) From will the school open in 2009 or 2010. Where did all the money come from? What if we get sued from a sick child. The list goes on and on. WE NEED TO STOP ALL OF THIS RIGHT NOW. LETS FIGURE OUT OUR DAMAGES AND GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD BEFORE WE MAKE ANOTHER BAD DECISION WHICH WOULD BE PERMANENT.

If you don't want to name the teacher on this board, can you PM me and tell me who it is. That is simply WRONG!

There are some wonderful, experienced teachers at Neuqua. I sure hope the teachers don't take it out on the author's children as although I disagree with his assessment of the quality of Neuqua's teachers, he is welcome to his opinion.

I hope you called that teacher and set her straight! Him and I let my daughter set him straight! It was wrong, that's for sure.

Just a reminder that the NSFOC meeting is tonight at the VFW Hall downtown Naperville. 7:00 p.m. I'm hoping to hear an update on what's going on - from their perspective.

On the cover of the Sun it reads: IS OPENING DATE FOR THIRD D204 HIGH SCHOOL IN DANGER? Mystery of still-undisclosed environmental reports My comment previously "Nice. Fuel the Fire." was a response to the above headline "Mystery of still-undisclosed environmental reports". I'm not sure what all the hubbub is but in the future I will use more quotes in my comments. Doc, I know exactly where the kids get all the info they pass on. It is unfortunate.

I couldn't have said this better....the madness needs to stop....I honestly don't know what can be done, especially now because we have a SB that is out of control.....
