I hope whomever can snap a picture of the fuel storage tank at the plant. Usually natural gas is stored in more spherical containers due to the internal pressure. That tank in the google satellite looks more like a petrol tank (diesel, jet fuel, gasoline, etc). If MM said it was natural gas, (which I don't doubt due to the pipeline being right underneath it) then why the huge fuel tank? Documentation on the site listed it as burning both fuels, but our SB President mentioned only one type of fuel. I hope that was a simple mistake and not an improper presentation of evidence to attempt to pipe down the 'jet fuel' concerns. Yeah, cause if M2 improperly presented evidence, that would be worse than supression, right Mr Investigator? This is all nuts, we're not seeing the forrest for the trees. The budget has ballooned by 22 Million, Bond Premiums are being used, more bonds are being issued, and money is appearing all over the place - That's the real issue in my book. I wouldn't mind more money at all, as long as they were upfront about it and asked us (the voters) about it.

The report that MM said it was natural gas was from a poster on here who claimed to have received an email from him and said that is what he (MM) wrote. Absent of that email being posted or a confirmation, we can not tell who was doing the improper presentation, MM or the poster.

FYI those pics from Diehl Rd are very misleading, and thank you for showing their locations, and how far away from the site they are. If you had put that up with the initial shots, maybe then everyone else could have made up their own mind then. And Shot a - would have been taken on the Midwest Gen Access road, after the picture taker went past this sign.

pipe down the 'jet fuel' concerns. Off topic, I know ED. I was reading this and I was notified I had a new email. I went and looked and this is what the subject line said: Jetfuel- The Thermogenic Energizer Now at GNCI just sat and laughed. The timing is great.

I did not know there were these signs on that access road, having never been there myself. Thanks for letting me know. Yes, shot A would have been taken past that sign (so what? - and please remember I have not verified the location yet) Possibly the photographer was an employee of Midwest Generation - I do not know who they work for. It's likely I won't get the location verified now that the criminal investigation team has begun. It's rather ironic that right after I post about not seeing the forrest for the trees, a photo of a tree at the entrance to the new school, with large electrical towers and power lines in the background is posted.

would the view from the stadium ( whenever that is actually added) not be what we are looking at here ? I wouldn't be too worried about view - It's the safety factor that has been raised as a question But you have a valid question ziggy - I don't know if the stadium will block it from view. I would say that looking at the plans, the stadium seems to be about 60 feet away from the school, so I imagine the stadium will feature prominently in the view.

Yes sir. No massive electric towers here. Just a harmless tree.

It appeared to me from the mirror in the picture that many of these were taken from the car -- telephoto lens are not that expensive these days

Hey everyone - I realize these pictures may have stirred up a hornet's nest of emotion. I will say that I'm sure some very nice photos of the empty fields to the south could be taken, or looking along the homes that are to the south (where the church will be), or the farmhouse out on Eola.
Remember, I didn't take these, I was just sharing what I'd been asked to pass along. To not show them would be hiding them. There's something rather uncomfortable next to the site and I think we should realize that. Although the photos are rather alarming, I can't blame the photographer for pointing the camera at the electrical lines/power station as that is where the concern lies.
Sorry if I caused a ruckus - I didn't think this would get everyone that upset.

That reminds me that i saw pictures in the newspaper of the people's backyard backing to a field. There are no homes that back up to the school site are there?

There are houses along Bennett which is just south of the whole property, but they will back up to the future church then just to the north of the church would be the school.

So when the newspapers talked about the school site they included a picture that was not of the school site.

Nope, artistic license in the 'spin zone ' I guess. Maybe they will be tearing down all the truck loading docks and putting up homes there ?
