Maybe the rumor was started to make the AME site seem more reasonable...you only have to travel 8 mi to HS not 15?
I cannot imagine a site farther north, I have yet to see a boundary scenario for AME that does not disrupt walkers, split schools, increase travel times, and move huge number of students away from their nearest HS.

The far north rumor has been around for awhile. About 3 weeks ago there was alot of discussion that there were 2 sites under serious consideration up north. One is the AME site and the other is in the Ferry/Bilter area (near I-88). What a boundary nightmare as there will conceivably be 2 or 3 elementary schools assigned to the high school furthest from their home. Very unfair if that's the scenario that comes to pass.
An e-mail from IPPC was recently distributed indicating that BB is still under consideration. I hope that's true.

I hope it is but I am not holding my breath.

For the record, as a supporter of a Northern site. I do believe any site north of I 88 would be too far North, even if it would shorten my travel time even more than say AME. Now if they were to acquire something off of Ferry/Bilter and Trade AME for it.......That I could live with.

And you won't see one because one is not possible. The site might as well be out of district, as there are many sites out of district much closer to the majority of population that will attend the 3rd school when built. Yes I also did think of the scenario where we are told - see we could have gone to Wisconsin for the site - look at what a deal we have for you at AME. For my area they are both lousy sites - and I know that will upset some but it is a fact. My plan B for that costs me $8000/year to go to a school 1/2 the distance of AME, and that stinks. Not to mention what it will do for property here when we explain where the MS and HS are located compared to the neighborhoods. ( definition of tough sell - the ops referendum in Watts / Cowlishaw and/ or W/E or whoever else will have to travel that far north )

A school and a church at the two sites is a reduction in tax base and does not reduce the number of students. Why would the church want to trade a more expensive piece of land in a residential area, for something less desirable. Why would a church want to be in the middle of commercial property, or why would a school for that matter?
