OK- I'll try once again. Elmhurst Unist Dist. 205 is going for their own bond referendum. They do a comparison on other Dupage school districts in their area to "sell" their referendum. Here is how we stack up with the tax rates in our surrounding areas: Dupage Dist 88 (Willowbrook/Villa Park) 4.2203 Dupage Dist 88 (Addison Trail/Lombard) 4.2347 Glenbard Dist 87/Glen Ellyn Elem. Dist 89 4.4799 Wheaton Unit Dist 200 4.1367 St. Charles Unit Dist 303 3.927 Naperville 203 4.3566 Westmont 201 3.7866 Elmhurst Unit Dist 205 3.4073 Indian Prairie 204 5.0036
Yes- We are being compared to in other districts. I know my tax rates have been 5.0 or higher for the last three years. I'm not seeing them going down in the near future. If I am wrong - please correct me.

I think your tax rate has gone down and will continue to go down whether the referendum passes or not.
Those other districts mostly have less students per dollar in equalized assessed valuation. I think that they all spend more money per student than 204. I will try to check that out.

Well I thought you said voteno didn't meet with anyone. A coincidence that they took the time to meet specifically with the most nervous of all swing votes?

Chuck:
I just checked it out. Operating expenses per pupil for IPSD 204 is only $8,666 per year. In comparison Elmhurst is $10,260, Naperville 203 is $8939, Glenbard is $11,681, St Charles is $8,893 and Westmont is $11,318. It looks like 204 does pretty wll against the districts to which you compared it.

Wow, IPSD looks like a baby compared to those ancient districts.... Also, I thought a large part of IPSD was in Will County. Would it make sense to include some of Will County's rates before we stop at a comparison to some of the oldest areas in the state?
