Are you drawing that line down by 75th? Sorry I could not resist. 83rd is the new north! I hear that they are all quite surprised to know that they are in the northern 1/3rd of the district. You guys are too funny. ;D I knew that was coming.

No, but my comment was not to slight anyone, just to state that it is not near the majority of the population and the growing population. Well, then, may I suggest you take a ride up to the site and see for yourself that there actually are homes, many of them, close together. Maybe most are smaller than WE or TG, but they're there. Please don't make comments that summarily dismiss other parts of the district. Please clarify, are you telling me that the majority of the population and the growing population are near the new site? This is news to me....there are pockets of houses everywhere in 204, so are you on board to build a 4th HS in order to service other areas that are not near a HS? I just don't get your point b/c I clarified my statement by saying the majority and the growing population.

I never talked about the size of someone's house...IMO, not a necessary comment.

I can't remember the documented number or what the parameters were used to determine what percentage of the district was near the school. For some reason, 20% rings a bell.
Edit: maybe 14%-20% rings a bell...

If you listen to the board meeting on boundaries and projections by AT. MV had the higher numbers at 2015 than WV. Look, I mean no disrespect by my comment. It was sincere. I think M&M should take a ride to get some perspective. Once she does, then I'll take her comments more seriously.

I'm forgetting how sensitive this issue is and it was insensitive of me to do so. Mea copa, mea copa, mea maxima copa. ETA: Compare and contrast: Houses more spread out = lower density vs houses, townhomes, apartments = higher density

I am new, so I apologize for not knowing this, but what is Hammond? I think it's Hamman farm. And if people are upset about AME, I thought that Hamman is very close to an old landfill. Also, I think it's in another district. It was - but really the whole other district thing could have been remediated ( now a favorite word) - and from where I have to attend - 3 other school districts are closer to my home - so distance wise surely districts don't matter.

I think you will find the environmental report will ease your minds somewhat when you hear the results. I'm sorry - the fact that so much time has to be spent telling us how safe something really is, and phase 1&2 will tell us there is nothing that can't be remediated, ( and that they'll fence off the 17 acres in question until all is clean) - does not make me feel any better. Common sense tells me if we need to go through all of this to explain it away - it is the wrong site for a school. I've been around long enough to know enough things that were once thought OK- and safe, became hazardous that the principle from Envron telling me " nobody's been able to prove a thing' doesn't make me feel all fuzzy.

I think M&M should take a ride to get some perspective. Once she does, then I'll take her comments more seriously. It's 16% within 3 miles -- that's half a high school. No one is dismissing the people there-- let's not try and make this an us against them thing when it's just numbers ( no qualitative info needed) - it has no place in this discussion. If there were 30% of the people in a reasonable distance - other entire areas wouldn't be preparing to have children spend inordinate amounts of time commuting - and parents may actually have a chance to get to their HS in rush hour to see their kids play sports --before the game is over.
