Oh, but the land deal is dead. They legally withdrew their ability to take the land when they finally filed the papers declining the jury demand. That part is over. Only thing left is to empty our pockets on the damages part. IIRC, by walking away, they get that regardless of whether we change our minds and decide we still want it. Are you saying that something could not be worked out...there is always a way to deal with things....but our SB is not willing to work out anything...instead we will flush the $ down the toilet....

No just wanted to form my own opinion when the whole EMF thing first came up when the board was voting on the site. took readings at area schools too but that would be counter productive to start going there. Those were just for my piece of mind. Board voted on the site the day after you took measurements. Not before. Yes I realize that - i wanted to form an opinion about what they would be voting on since everyone days before was all up in arms about the EMF's. Many people formed opinions between the time the site info was released and then voted on! Not too abnormal to be following the whole process. I am assuming you just got involved once it became an issue for you. I've been following it since it became an issue for the entire distirct - years back. Just doing my homework based on the data they provided.

I know there are some on Molitor. On Eola they would be on the West side of the street. Sorry, opposite side of the street as the school, but let me google it.

HillMom - love it! You called everyone out on the EMF ratings!
At this point, I am gettin' tired of the fighting. Lt's forget the 3rd high school - cram everyone who wants to go into NVHS and we at WVHS will be fine.
And I bet at the high schools with a cell phone in each child's hand and texting during class the EMF ratings are interesting there as well.

Yes, definitely on the other side of Eola. Four lanes and a median between.

Just doing my homework based on the data they provided. So if you wanted to form this opinion, you could have easily taken readings from the AME site before the other group started taking the pictures. If you were doing this years back then you had another oppty to take a reading at AME, b/c it was in the running 2 years ago, but then it became discounted b/c of the questionable land...so are you saying this didn't peak your curiosity....if you were so diligent with BB and other schools, why not the AME site....IMO, this does not add up or you forgot to do part of your homework assignment.

I'd sign up for that - my daughter still wants to be a warrior! Those cell phones - hopefully no pregnant teens according to Shawn Collins letter miscarriage rate is higher for those exposed to EMF's - I thought that siting was in poor taste.

I would like to work with you further on this to ensure our SB has the best data able to be obtained so that it can make an informed decision on any piece of land. Historically we have seen that they lack good data. Will you be willing to work with me to help provide them accurate data? Even if they choose to ignore it or fluff it off, we can all say we tried our very best to make sure they had as complete of a picture as possible. If you have data on any current locations with regards to hazards I would very much appreciate it if you would be willing to share that too. Post up or PM it, please.

In 2006.

I thought that Eola has the same wooden power lines along the West portion of the school (which according to the map looks very close to Eola Rd). However, the EMF map readings only show a reading of 4.48 taken at the NW corner and that they did not continue down Eola Rd. That seems to be the same thing that you are talking about on BB, but we have yet to see how close/far you were to the actual school site when you took the readings. Why they did not talk about the wooden power lines along Eola is a question that has been on my mind - it has become more concerning in light of the information that you just provided. Rural, please save me a drive and confirm whether or not there are the wooden powerlines on Eola. I thought that when I talked with Mr. Crawford from ENVIRON he mentioned them. BB site the wooden power lines run along 75th and 59 on the school property. If I'm looking at the right site. Isn't BB located on the southwest corner of 75 and 59?

*Hand Raised* I live near power lines. I live near abandoned power plant. I live near gas pipelines. I just want to know what was tested for and what was found. (and not tests from someone hired by MWGEN) As and aside: The Collins letter read: constant exposure during the first 15 years. How old are you in high school again? I guess it's the first year that's a doosey. For every report he can come up with that has a negative spin, someone else can do some research and find the opposite. Your choice. Not mine. It all comes down to that. Simple really. I can't believe that you even made that statement about exposure. I want to say so many comments that may sound rude but I will restrain myself. I remember what happened the last time I used the word ignorance.

She claims one group didn't do their homework, but she should have completed the most important part of the homework assignment, the AME site....b/c that is what is in question right now....

Double yup! Suddenly on January 21st Hillmom became concerned about EMF levels at the BB site? So concerned, she ran out and tested them. Wow, I am having a hard time not injecting sarcasm. I'm trying though! January 21? Hillmom, what motivated you to go read EMF at BB on that date? Seems a little fishy to me. Sorry Hillmom. Take your ghostbuster machine to Eola and Molitor tomorrow and report back. Arch, doesn't seem to think it's a ghostbuster machine.
