No where in the documentation by the pipeline operators did I see noted that the Natural Gas in the lines on the Eola property is ODORIZED. From the Kane County Emergency Response Manual that methodically notes out hazards in the county they speak of the ANR transit pipeline out by Rt 47 and note that it carries non-odorized natural gas. They go on to say: ANY RELEASE FROM THIS LINE CAN NOT BE DETECTED BY SMELL. A gas meter MUST be used to determine the presence of the gas. The question is: Do all of the lines at the Eola site carry ODORIZED gas or do some carry NON-ODORIZED GAS which can be leaking and causing a build up to disaster WITHOUT ANYONE KNOWING about it? winsome.cnchost.com/pipeline/Kane_County_ERP.pdf

If I recall right from the SB meeting where a manager and one of his employees took turns reviewing - some were odorized and some ( return ) were not. I remember one of them explaining that those which feed gas to storage facilities are not odorized. Which ones are which on the property I don't know -- this was the meeting that we got a parade of people telling us don't worry....like the guy from Environ whose consoling words on EMF's were" well people have been trying to prove this or that for years, and haven't been able to " I believe that meeting was a regular meeting so it should be on tape.

Oh lovely. It's safe... but just in case it's not, you have no way of knowing until it's too late. Perfect for 3,000 kids and $150million of our money.
