Here's a good question for people living in the area. Does anybody have Sprint cell phone service? How satisfied are you with it?
If I'm going to take the Treo/Blackberry plunge, I'll need to swtich to Sprint. My office is downtown but I work out of my house, near 75th and 59, frequently. That along with some occassional travel.
I have Verizon and have been very satisfied with their network, though I think my phone is about to croak. I'd be interested to hear what others experiences with Sprint have been like.

My husband and I have had Sprint cell service for about 6 years and love it. You do get spotty places occasionally, but I had that happen when I was with Cingular. The Sprint Store on Rt 59 has always been extremely helpful for us as well and the toll free customer service has been good too. Hard to find these days! Good Luck!

When I moved to White Eagle about 4 years ago, I had Verizon and over here the reception was horrible, so I canceled it. I switched to Sprint and had 5 bars all the time. One other insider tip for you...don't go to the Sprint store...they give you the worst deals and advice. Instead, talk to a Sprint rep on the phone instead. Here is a nightmare story that happened to me. My wife placed her phone in the car's holder in front of the center console of her mini van. Breaking to avoid a squirrel, the phone flew up in the air, did 2 1/2 somersaults with a twist, and landed in my daughters full glass of milk in the cupholder. It died of course, so we dried it out and brought it to the Sprint store. The geeks there said "You're phone has a wax like substance on it and we don't replace phones with wax like substances on it according to the warranty". I then contacted the Sprint rep on my other phone. She figured out a way for me to order a new phone under another number that was eligible for an upgrade, and then switch the numbers. She said to ignore the reps in the store and listen to her instead. So I did.

Just to follow-up, I switched to Sprint (from Verizon) to make the Treo plunge.
I have been pleasantly surprised. Many of my friends who live in the city complained about dropped calls. I've had few problems with where I go. (I've driven 290/88 both ways and not dropped a call the entire ride.) And I live near 75th and 59 and I get a very good signal at home.
I just came back from a trip to Minocqua, Wisconsin. I knew that the network didn't extend that far north, but I made it about 20 minutes south before I went on Roaming. And the signal was good except for 1 or 2 spots the whole way up.
Now the Treo is another story. The e-mail is nice, but I live and die by my to-do list and it's so nice to have an up-to-date list, synced with Outlook, available anytime.

It's funny that you're talking about Sprint service as I just had an incident this morning that makes me want to consider switching. I've had Verizon forever, and it never works well at Neuqua (in the pool area), so I always head to the door. I borrowed a friend's phone, and it worked great inside the building. She has Sprint.
