IPPC Basketball Game this Friday

If you have nothing better to do on Friday night, since the kids are off from school, might want to attend the game. It goes to a good cause.

I am going to harass, I mean cheer on Alderman Keith and some of the school reps. ;D



The IPPC Scholarship Celebrity Basketball Game will take place this
Friday 11/16 at the WVHS gym. Our own Mr. Echols will be participating
in the basketball game, and entertainment will be provided by Varsity
Poms, Mosaic Choir, Steppers, and Pep Band. Come out for these TWO
“Globetrotter-Style” basketball games and help fund college
scholarships for Neuqua & Waubonsie Valley High School seniors!!

Bring the family to see local area celebrities, teachers, and middle
school students compete and even be on TV yourself as NCTV17 will be
taping key moments. Mayor of Aurora Tom Weisner will be one of the MCs
and Mayor of Naperville George Pradel will provide “play-by-play”
commentary. Elvis and the Blues Brothers along with Jeff Blanzy – ABC
TV 7 Weekend Sports Anchor; Babutunde “O.J.” Oshinowo Jr. – Chicago
Bears - will be on the Celebrity Team and entertainment will be
provided by the WVHS Varsity Poms, NVHS Platinum Dance Troupe, WVHS
Mosaic Choir, NVHS Urban Arts Club, WVHS Step Team, NVHS & WVHS Pep
Bands, Welch & Young Elementary Choruses, extreme All StarZZ, Step
Dance Center Limelights and New Epidemic Soft Rock Band. Refreshments
sponsored by NVHS & WVHS Athletic Booster Clubs!!

The Scholarship Celebrity Basketball Game will take place on Friday,
Nov. 16, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the WVHS main gym. The event is a
fun-filled family evening of “Globetrotters” style basketball in which
1 teacher/staff from each of our schools will verse local area
celebrities.

The Celebrity Game will be preceded at 7:00 p.m. by a Middle School
Basketball Game in which students from each of our 6 middle schools
will unite to play each other. The middle school team coaches are WVHS
students Kyle Obendorf & Zak Palfenier! See a complete list of

Proceeds will benefit the IPPC scholarship fund, which provides
scholarships for graduating NVHS & WVHS students. Ticket cost is $7.00
for those ages 5+. (No charge under 5 yrs. old.)

Hmm, Leroy in shorts - not a great mental picture coming to mind As long as he skips the 70's tighties it should be fine.

He could totally take Irvin out in the paint though.

Seeing as I work with the man.....He comes in a couple of hours early to work to use the exercise room... He is a Lifter.

Just wanted to say that this scholarship fundraiser was an awesome event. The gym was packed to standing room only.

The entertainment was fabulous. We should be proud of these wonderful groups that our schools offer. ES choirs, dance teams, band, HS choir. Very impressive.

Both the MS and HS games were competitive. Poor Leroy....he was definitely height-challenged compared to the rest of the members on the teams.

One thing I did notice last night, that I wish could have been bottled.........
EVERYONE was cheering on EVERYONE. There was no division within this district last night. EVERYONE came together to support a good cause.

Not only that, but seeing everyone work TOGETHER to send a wave around the WVHS gym nearly for times no matter wether they were in blue or green! I hope that this becomes a standing tradition.
