Students chosen for IMEA convention

Students from both Indian Prairie School District 204 high schools are participating in the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Convention in Peoria from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2.
The following students will represent Waubonsie Valley High School:
Orchestra: Gabrielle Kim, violin; Kiran Kumararaj, violin; Vincent Lee, violin; Abigail Sefton, violin; Lauren Alexander, viola; Vivi DiMarco, viola; Kajsa Nichols-Smith, viola, Sonam Dodhia, cello and Chloe Mark, cello.
Band: Maya Merriweather, flute; Mark Stercay, Bb clarinet; Jordan Yi, trumpet; and Patrick Hockberger, trombone.
Honors Chorus: Katie Jepson, soprano; Rebecca Killacky, soprano; and Josh Greiner, tenor.
Choir: Meaghan Carroll, alto; Madison Cottingham; alto; and Garrett Lutz, bass.
Future Music Educators: Thomas Jencks and Stephanie Merelos.
The following students will represent Neuqua Valley High School:
Orchestra: Luke Sliva, violin; Adam Wagner, violin; Christine Chen, violin; Joy Hua, violin; Garrison Kaan, violin, James Franco, viola; Nathanial Keane, viola; Michael Resetar, viola; Max Brister, bass; Bobby Sleeper, bass; and Peter Huang, harp.
Band: Chris Plaskota, euphonium; Bonnie May, tuba; Erik Horne, trumpet.
Jazz Band: Alistair Duncan, trombone; Ashley Knorr, vibraphone; Evan Staley, string bass.
Chorus: Grace Heimerl, soprano; Allison Shepherd, soprano; Rachel Carreras, soprano; Alyssa Tongco, alto; Ryan Korell, bass; and Thomas Parry, tenor.
