Benet just had a huge fundraising push to add a new science wing. Friends I know who attend there would love to see a Benet West at Macom, but they said there's no money to build. I was surprised Calvary didn't go all the way through HS. Most baptist high schools I know of do very well and draw from a wide geographical circle. It targets a very specific group of parents. I know people from West Chicago who attend Calvary?? Talk about a drive! I know of 25 acres that Calvary could put a very nice high school on.

So what is the process for us selling that land back to BB? Do we have to file something to officially state we aren't going to build there (never, ever, ever)? And if that's the case, how come we haven't already sold it back to them? Sorry if these are silly, I just don't recall the details of this parcel.

Sorry if these are silly, I just don't recall the details of this parcel. As I recall, all we had to do was ask after we abandoned the claim to the remaining 55 acres and they had like 30 days or so to respond then the property is ours. As with everything, it seems to be more complicated than the school board has led us to believe, or we could be selling the property right now. I doubt BB would hand it over with pending litigation with the potential that we could owe them $10 - $20+ million in fees and damages. The damages due to the PREIT renege is new with the most recent filing and adds more money to the damage claim.
