Atta boy, Arch! ;D Did it include the list of school supplies, also? Respirator, iodine, oxygen tank, and tactical body armor. I needed that chuckle to start my day. I am cracking up still as I type.

Respirator, iodine, oxygen tank, and tactical body armor. Man those backpacks are going to be heavy! no problem- each kid is getting his own bus to make sure they can keep the times under 45 mins ( 30 min avg ) - for each one of them...

Since parking has already been brought up as a big concern - I think MV needs more parking than the other 2 high schools because I'm assuming more kids will drive due to the travel times - I am wondering how many will start parking across the tracks and running across the tracks to get to school?
Yes, I know they aren't supposed to, but they also aren't supposed to park in spots they currently park at the existing high schools.
And if anyone thinks a fence can keep the kids from cutting through - witness the continual fence cutting between the apartment complex and Naperville North.

Worst case we can use the 25 acres on BB and set up a Park N' Ride for the kids that drive....oh and maybe some tennis courts.

Daughter just said that her teacher told them not to bring materials to a particular class and that they were all going to be in an assembly about the HS. No further info. Maybe they're picking out the team mascot and school colors? Kids from Scullen, etc. ALREADY did that when MV was going to be their school. Perhaps they'll throw that out the window like they did everything else....

Hill is having some assembly about the HS tomorrow... Hill is having an assembly tomorrow because they won the Horizon Award - This is a very prestigous award for Middle Schools! A huge honor for a 1st year principal to be recognized at the state level, his teachers, staff, and students for all their accomplishments! The district and people from state will be there in the morning and the PTSA with a surprise for all the fabulous students. People need to get a life - there is no conspiracy theory!

Congratulations to Allen Davenport -- he's made a nice transition. and the kids love him......I liked that choice when it was made. Hill has been very fortunate to have excellent Ass't principals also - Mary Kelly being another perfect example.

Nah, that would require a signed parental consent form. Did you get one of those? It was located in the pocket of the the hazmat suit I didn't particularly find the hazmat suit so funny - actually very offensive if you ask me - white hooded outfits with faces covered has to me a very ugly conotation - poor choice although ironic since most of the district feels that the real issue is really about things other than environmental concerns. Too me a very poor choice to be present in a white hood with a covered face!

Great leadership at both places - just don't spoil the surprise for the kids!!!

Too me a very poor choice to be present in a white hood with a covered face! 1st Amendment allows many to make a$$es out of themselves... So true - hopefully the gentlemen thinks before he suits up again! There is such an ugly under current that exists and in the end this stuff hurts the kids. I know for some there is a true concern for environmental but for many this argument is just the instrument to acheive an end result they demand and in the process they have again divided a district, pitted families against each other, communities against each other. There is this one huge missing link in the argument if this is really truly about the environmental concerns - WHY NOT raise the issue on all the sites or existing schools - we all know why - because this really isn't it for the individuals in the lawsuit - just the tool and ultimately we would find something wrong at every single school location - every single one without a doubt. At the end of the day - this is all so very sad! The yes people - the no people we have all become puppets in 8 peoples play!

Can someone direct me to a site where there is any information about this award? How winners are chosen, etc. Who determines the winners? What organization confers the award? I can't find anything about it. Thanks
