I have been told the AME land was farmland before it was purchased by COMed and not used for anything else.

Not according to M2: School board President Mark Metzger said Friday afternoon that he had not yet been presented with any offers from the church. You can't honestly believe any MM says can you ? I doubt the Good Reverend would be up there presenting his offer without having talked to the SB. I think it's pretty legit. I agree with Arch if this land deal goes through, we will NEVER have another 3rd HS. We'll own worthless land at Eola and expensive land at BB. We'll never be able to pass another referendum and we'll be in worse shape than our overcrowding now. This is just so wrong. I wonder if CV is still thinking we don't need the 3rd HS now? Back at AME, I bet she decides we need it. I agree that will be interesting on how CV plays it now. I just wish the others spoke about how they felt and not just what they are told to say. The last board meeting with the softball questions from BG was pathetic.

I have been told the AME land was farmland before it was purchased by COMed and not used for anything else. Unfortunately Sush we all have been told a lot of things, and not told a lot more things and half truths that would be considered important. Peel the layers back and its still an onion.

Jennifer Streder, of Napervile's Brookdale neighborhood, said Friday she hopes the district finds a way to build along Eola.
"People are appalled, shocked and hurt that elitism wins in this case," she said ----------------------------------------------------
Are people not embarrassed to continue with the name calling? At least Daeschner didn't quote it to the papers.

Believe you me, this is a done deal and was constructed before Midwest pulled out officially. The church is smart to sell all this land. Why would they want to build a church on this land? They are not stupid. They have a ready buyer who is willing to buy the land with no further testing. I suspect they are laughing all the way to the bank and the check will be cashed in record time. I hope they make sure they make us sign an as iis clause. They obviously have good lawyers (and a higher power) on their side. Yup, this is my exact same feeling. When I saw the Mark quote about not being approached by other parties I knew it was true. How are we doing on build smart with only AME land?

Her husband feels like a "nincompoop" and is stilled p:ssed at her for convincing him to paint the whole house orange and taking so long to scrape it off. It looks like Halloween year round in the neighborhood. Where's JC been.......seems pretty quiet lately. Hands must be getting tired of waving. Too bad we didnt have the video streams back then.

All and all, I have to say that the MWGEN back out is good news for everyone in the district. If it's built on the remaining AME land the school won't be on top of the known DFO and other known contamination. This deal would also put the school farther away from the switching station.
That being said, we will still move before I send my kids there. But at least some of the liability is reduced. That's my glass is half full stance.
I still do not believe there is a snowball's chance of a 2009 opening.

Our district had 3 outstanding lawsuits against us how can they move ahead with this very disadvantageous loss looming over 204?

Everyone please write the school board now before they buy this AME land! curt_bradshaw@ipsd.org, mark_metzger@ipsd.org, chris_vickers@ipsd.org, Bruce_Glawe@ipsd.org, jeannette_clark@ipsd.org, john_stephens@ipsd.org, alka_tyle@ipsd.org

They can move ahead because it is "not their money". The bottom line is if there are financial ramifications going forward the taxpayers pick that up and if they vote refs down, fine they cut things that hurt the kids...you don't think Dash is worried about his job or his paycheck at 65.

"Initially, Forrest said St. John was depending on the sale of the 49 acres along Eola Road to finance its new church campus. But after breaking the campus construction into phases, he said, the church can complete the first phase without proceeds from any land sale."
Great so now our tax $$'s are paying for a church and a school. It would be interesting to note the exact date of "Initially" and when the "campu construction was broken down in to phases"

Or you can just write to board-members@ipsd.org. Then your email goes to Birkett and Daeschner as well. What a deal!
