This is the "bait and switch" that MM talked so much about during the referendum. They sold us one thing and then took hold of our money and changed direction to benefit a small section of the district they are clearly catering to. And anyone who disagrees with them can go straight to H*ll. After all, they have GOD on their side. You say they changed direction to benefit a small section of the district? Nothing could be farther from the truth. They were BB or bust. They did everything in their power to obtain that land. In fact, they did too much. Their mistake is clear. When they couldn't agree with BB on the price, they should have walked away from BB and pursued other properties. True, this does make a large portion of the northern part of the district happy, but the SB was not acting on their behalf. They were just trying to pick the best location and that happended to make some people happy, just like BB made others happy. And getting back to my earlier point. This has nothing to do with land and everything to do with boundaries. This has to do with land... safe land. It has nothing to do with boundaries for me. Go ahead and put the school 'in my back yard' and send my kids PAST IT to another school. I'm fine with that, in fact, I wanted that... keep them at WV. They did not do everything in their power to obtain the BB land. If that were true, they would have contacted them yesterday and said OK, we'll buy it and put all of these lawsuits behind us. Did they do that simple thing? No. They instead overpaid for a sub-standard plot of land with multiple built-in site hazards; one potentially lethal one that will only degrade further as time goes on. PLUS, they left our wallets exposed for 2 HUGE lawfirms to pull up to the feeding trough and have a smorgasbord...and we get the bill. I respect your opinion, but I highly disagree with your assessment and conclusions.

So who has jurisdiction over Dr D. Darlene Ruschetti or Jennifer Bertino Tarrant. Or are they both invovled because thee district spans both counties?

My guess, since the district offices are located in DuPage, it would be Darlene although I don't know for sure.

The land is $19M vs BB $31M = $12M - $5M damages (min) - $5M expedite costs which could have been avoided if we began last fall. So again we wlked away, divided the district, exposed ourselves to lawsuits for $2M dollars on a $150M project. That makes sense. I know CB said at last night's meeting the AME land yielded substantial savings

I believe you may contact Debbie Vespa (dvespa@isbe.net) who I think may be over the regional superintendant of schools.

I know CB said at last night's meeting the AME landed yielded substantial savings AT used similar 'logic' by cherrypicking an ACT score and equated that exclusively as a direct result of high school size. Someone needs to tell them it's better to say nothing than to just spew BS.

Perhaps you can explain item 32 of the Brodie lawsuit, which states Don't bother, we'll get the official response from the district in court. Tax bill to be determined later.

I believe you may contact Debbie Vespa (dvespa@isbe.net) who I think may be over the regional superintendant of schools. She (Debbie) is responsible for helping the districts with financial matters. Also, I was told by the ISBE that Darlene had jurisdiction because the district offices, etc. are in DuPage.

I think the more people that contact Ms Vespa the better. I believe her position in the state board of education oversees the regional superintendents (but I may be wrong). In any event, I encourage everyone to contact her. I somehow misplaced her phone number. Will post if I find it.

That's right Fryfox. It's Darlene. Poor woman will be bombarded with calls today. ISBE would be the next step and they arleady know about us. Talked to them myself the other day. But Darlene is the next step. Do keep in mind that MM is very well respected and be prepared to back up what you say and do.
