IPPC Unity Committee

I got this email from our ES PTA. Now I think this is a great idea.

The Indian Prairie Parents’ Council is seeking Volunteers interested in serving on our Unity Committee.

The IPPC’s newly established Unity Committee will focus on the following goals:

1. Encourage discussion between various schools, PTA’s and other booster clubs within the Indian Prairie School District 204 to share ideas and success stories for creating positive programs that benefit all parts of the district.


2. Work with Indian Prairie School District 204 administration, school board, and local unit PTA’s to ensure that equitable educational opportunities exist for all District 204 students


3. Create opportunities to develop district cohesiveness and community spirit through District 204 combined high school events, district wide community events and service projects benefiting the Indian Prairie School District 204 community.

This committee is a PTA committee and is open to any PTA member of Indian Prairie School District 204.

All interested persons should contact Rachell Kitchen

Participation will be on a first come first served basis.

As part of the interview process last year, I had brought forward a few of these ideas as important to the future of 204...so I am thrilled to see this. I am not taking any credit for anything here as I am sure there were others with the exact same ideas ( before anyone accuses me again of being more important than I am , or self serving or what not)- just stating this was part of my 'platform' if you will for wanting to run. I wanted to see SD204 promoted as a district...cross school events ..especially at the high school level to make any perceived divisions start to go away. If one HS makes it downstate for something - others in same activity able to attend as support ( this would be for sports / academic/arts type things ) - even as far as to promote 204 as a district - as well as individual schools...etc. Shared success / shared accountability.

I think this is an excellent step....
