I would be extremely interested as a taxpayer whether the Naperville Park District would have "shared" the land with District 204 just like they do with District 203 for Naperville Central. If that were the case, then the Aurora residents would have had an even bigger savings as it would have been all of Naperville that would be paying taxes for the upkeep of the Park District land that was being shared. Just want to know if this would have been one of the options on the table. This is an interesting point. There is that huge park down at 248th and 111th. Is that part of the Naperville Park District? ETA: The reason I ask is because I wonder if the Park District would want two large parks so close together.

Yep - amazing how the Park District had more foresight than the SB. As stated earlier the PD offered to swap the 25 acres for the Macom property they own, but they were never taken up on their offer.

The noose is tightening - hot off the press from Education Secretary Margaret Spellings Tue Apr 22:
The regulations also call for school districts to demonstrate that they are doing all they can to notify parents of low-income students in struggling schools that free tutoring is available. If the districts fail to do that, their ability to spend federal funds could be limited under the proposal. The department estimates only 14 percent of eligible students receive tutoring available to them.
An even smaller percentage of kids who are allowed to transfer to higher-performing schools make that switch, in part because they aren't always informed of vacancies on time. The regulations require schools to publicize open spots at least 14 days before school starts.
The administration's proposal also would tighten the rules around the corrective steps schools must take once they've failed to hit progress goals for many consecutive years. Regulations can be overturned by a new administration. Spellings said that's unlikely in this case, because the rules she is proposing have widespread support.

Since this is a problem that began while Howie was super, could changing supers be considered part of the remedy? I.E., new super, new plan of action, etc., etc.?

They swap property all the time and understand and listen to their constituents.

You mean by putting M2 and Dash in place ? I am thinking no only because the corrective actions dont kick right away as it doesnt look like they were acting on them anyway. And if they were, it wasnt being reported correctly.
