People forget and move on. Hell, use the War, for example, 4000 soldiers and 500,000 iraqi civilians and all we care about today are lapel pins, britney's custody battles and baba wawa's affair 30 years ago!!!!! Yes, the north side has completely forgotten about their hissy fit/inferiority complex over NV. I have felt that the word 'entitled' was better used to describe some people from the north who have felt they were ENTITLED to a new school ever since NVHS was built.

So people want a new school or people want a 30 year old school? Or people want a new school but won't forget about the hazards for 30 years so it's a wash? I'm confused as to what your point is. WV is 30 years old. Please reread my post. Do you know who bab wawa is??

I guess it won't matter anyway - repubs will remain in office and my kids' private education will be subsidized with vouchers soon enough.

Out of curiousity, how long have you lived in this district?

I have to disagree with you. All people will have to do is drive by the poor site. They will not want to send there kids there. So funny how you can talk about your home values, but us making the sacrifices and a cut in our home values when we bought into this district can make comments like these. Those who bought in Brookdale ect., knew their commutes when they bought their houses. That is why when we moved into district 204 we moved into a smaller house to be closer to the schools. It is a choice to live where you live. Now the SB is taking that choice away. You choose your home. Did you seriously think that 'boundaries will never change.?" I'd bet you a dime that your own school district had some kind of boundary change in your school lifetime. Change is the only thing that stays the same. Shame on you for pulling the curtain closed to the truthl. we did our homework prior to moving here. It was between 203, St. Charles 303 (I think) and 204. At the time, the district was "on record" that they would NOT need another high school. They had just converted middle schools to accomodate growth. Yep, we fell for it hook line and sinker. I've since realized this district and school board is incapable of forecasting and telling the truth.

Had I realized I OWED something to those folk in the north for NVHS and someday there would be payback, I would NEVER HAVE MOVED TO THIS DISTRICT!

Explain? I moved out of a district that built new schools (that taxpayers had to fork out $$ for left and right). Moved here to 204 and all I hear is complaints about who had to pay for NVHS. Screw that! Should I have asked for a rebate after moving out of my old district for forking over dollars for building schools that my children would never attend?

203 teaches to the test and produces automatons for students, st chuck had huge mold issues and we will have a brand new hs that we don't need and can't afford. In fact, remember that our top dog, Dr D says we should have 4 to 5 hs in dist 204 so hold on to your hat. You would have hit rough waters no matter where you would have settled.

Look, I live in the north. Have lived here since before there was a NV. Was happy to increase my property taxes to build the school, because it was what was and still is good for the district--the entire--district. I was never jealous of NV. I was proud that such an exemplary school was part of MY district.
This line of thought/reasoning is just plain comical! I thought we were trying to stop the whole north and south thing, but apparently not.

That is today. In 2009 (or whenever the dang thing opens) people will flock to MV boundary homes , especially those families who are not so transcient. ru4real, I don't think people will flock to MV homes. This district is not attractive anymore to many people. Again, I look to the rationale that brought me to 204. If I could have a redo, I'd move to St. Charles or 203 in a heartbeat. M Do you think you should 'cut and run' now?? Afterall, the ginormous tax increase happens in 2012 right?? The market is NOT getting better fast by 2009. Do you think people will start leaving in droves??? Any realtors out there that can give us their 'opinion' on the present state of affairs and the next 5 years??
