Should we arrange our own welcome to WV party at this event? Support the Boosters, bring our new Warriors and try to change the tide here on our own?

Should we arrange our own welcome to WV party at this event? Support the Boosters, bring our new Warriors and try to change the tide here on our own? I recommend we support the Boosters. They (WVHS) are very welcoming to incoming parents that are interested in supporting our new school. Too bad the district isn't helping to introduce any of us or having any open houses for the kids. Or for that matter, providing us the information on summer camps for athletics or band. Why would they provide that information to us? It seems they don't like us and have trouble communicating to us. Oh yeah, I forgot, there was a lawsuit that prevented them from communicating to parents.... There is so much that could have been done already to transition parents and kids. The district has blamed NSFOC for the lack of a transitional plan and communication to families making a change. ETA: they only reason I know WVHS Boosters are very open and welcome to incoming families is because a WE parent (a current NVHS booster chair) took it upon herself to contact them to see if it would be okay for us to attend a booster meeting at WVHS. The WVHS boosters were more than accomodating towards this request. Where is the district at in communicating these opportunities to parents? Mr. PR guy??? Here's a HUGE opportunity for you to engage people. Why has the district taken a pass in the simple, easy things they could have done to help people deal with the change? I believe it's because there is anger directed at a portion of the 204 community. Is this anger towards NSFOC or those in general that the district feels are "entitled"? I think it's the latter. It's been coming for a long time. Remember, a while ago it was the "haves" vs. the "have nots"... Just my opinion.

Macy,
At WV, you will find a well oiled and smooth running machine. The parents are incredibly generous and open (as you mention) as are the faculty and I'm certain you will have great times there. I am saddened that my family won't be able to be a part of that welcoming you there and going through it together.
