You gotta love Martha Baumann's quote. Indian Prairie School District 204 administrators announced Jonathan Vogel will serve as principal of White Eagle Elementary School beginning July 1. Vogel has served as assistant principal at Gregory Middle School since 2004. While at Gregory, his responsibilities included overseeing special education and leading the school improvement team. Martha Baumann, director of elementary education, said Vogel is a good fit for White Eagle, a high performing school with high expectations in the area of student achievement. "Jon brings solid leadership skills, an enthusiasm for learning, and strong student focus." Prior to joining Indian Prairie, Vogel served as an assistant principal in Oswego District 308 and taught Language Arts at Simmons Middle School in Aurora. Vogel is replacing Ron Zeman, who accepted a principal post in another district.

"a good fit for...achievement"- maybe some schools don't 'perform' as well as others.. but let's hope there are still high expectations in the area of student achievement!

Actually, that was the one I was referring to. At least we all have a clearer idea of why the WE myth is perpetuated.

I think the quote is a dis...paraphrased " a good fit for the demanding elitists who like to push their gifted brats" LOL! I look forward to learning more about our new principal. I have had a nephew at Gregory for 3 years; going onto NVHS this year so I will be anxious to hear about the reputation this gentleman has at Gregory. In the (going on) 9 years that I have had kids at WE elementary I have never had anything negative to say. Our experiences have been wonderful ; We have amazing teachers and administrators and I hope it will continue.

I think the quote is a dis...paraphrased " a good fit for the demanding elitists who like to push their gifted brats" Darn those elitist parents that like their kids to achieve and put a high value on education. Darn them. They are so difficult to manage. It's so hard to get them to shut up!

Darn them. They are so difficult to manage. It's so hard to get them to shut up! If you tell them to sit down first, it works better

The years my children attended WE elem. were very good years. The teachers were excellent and the parent community was the best. I hope the new principal will be very happy there and do a great job.
