I'll dumb this down. Any "excess" money will probably be needed for MVHS. So it can't be spent on anything else - at least not right now. The district's and BB's valuation of the land are grossly different. We'll need to see if we can even afford BB. So the answer is blow it all on firvolous spending like 15 million for A/C without asking the taxpayers? You're right, that is dumb. That wasn't my suggestion - it was someone else's. Perhaps you should read the posts first before responding next time. I feel for the kids with no A/C (mine dealt with it too), but we shouldn't spend $ for A/C with funds marked for MVHS - or the interest generated from those funds. Whew ... hope that clears up all the confusion on my position. I'll try to speak more slowly next time.

Lacy,
Please, more slowly for me! It's hard to keep track of this thread as I've never read in any of your posts that you think referendum funds should be spent on air conditioning. In fact, I think early on you stated you were not in approval of spending more tax $$$ on air.
Speaking more slowly might help all of us. Maybe we all should not jump to conclusions either.

M fault Lacy, I misread your posting. I'm glad we're on the same page, that the referendum money is destined for Metea and can not be spent otherwise. Sorry for the confusion.

SD with state of the art NVHS and we must resort to this direction to principals for our kids. How embarrassing. The last bullet is truly classic - let us just disrupt our school day by taking kids for a "cool down walk". I believe the note was sent to ensure as well as show consistency across all schools ( with the Halloween controversy going on). But I am sure Kathy would love your suggestions - please send them to her. I agree......let's be consistent. So when do we remove the air from the administrative offices, middle schools and high schools? That would keep it simple and CONSISTENT!!!!!!

And then all the people of 204 would rise as one, it would be a miracle and the SB would find money to fix this atrocity. The only way to get A/C in the ES is through the referendum process. There are no short cuts.

If you would have pasted in my remark instead of just referencing it clearly stated "I believe the note was sent to ensure as well as show consistency across all schools ( with the Halloween controversy going on). But I am sure Kathy would love your suggestions - please send them to her." This has to do with consistency of communication and to make sure schools with similar situation act the same way - as opposed to the differences in how they each treated Halloween. I am not sure how this was confusing -

I think this topic has reached an endpoint. If you want AC in the ES....contact your friendly SB member for consideration......
