FYI. Volunteering for the PTA is time well spent. Does anyone remember what the NVHS PTA did pre-start-up? I suspect there wold be a few more thinigs to do than organize the fall fundraiser.

Dear Metea Valley Mustang Community,
We are pleased to inform you that work is now underway to create a strong and vibrant
Parent-Teacher-Student Association for our future Metea Valley High School Mustangs! The
Indian Prairie Parents’ Council is undertaking this initiative now to help ensure students and
staff have the vital support of parents, families, and the community upon the opening of
Metea Valley High School.
Seeking Officer Nominations
You play a key role in the future of the MVHS PTSA as we aim to build a leadership team
that is fully representative of its incoming communities. We are now seeking your
nominations for President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer for the Metea Valley
High School PTSA. For more information about these officer positions, please refer to the
enclosed descriptions from Illinois PTA.
You may nominate yourself or someone else, provided consent of the nominee has been
obtained prior to nomination. If you wish to nominate someone for office, please complete
and return the enclosed MVHS PTSA Nomination Form, no later than Wednesday, October
1, to:

Qualifications of a Nominee
A nominee should be willing to serve for a term, beginning November 20, 2008 and ending
May, 2010, as well as meet these basic requirements from Illinois PTA:
• Is a PTA member
• Completes Illinois PTA training within six months of election
• Is knowledgeable of and adheres to the Objects and Basic Policies of the PTA
• Demonstrates fairness and justice
• Shows enthusiasm for PTA
• Is able to give PTA a high priority in their schedule
MVHS PTSA Charter Meeting
Please join us as we celebrate the creation of the Metea Valley High School PTSA and hold
officer elections during the MVHS PTSA Charter Meeting on November 20, 2008 at 7:00 pm
in the Crouse Education Center, Boardrooms B5 – B7. The Crouse Education Center is
located at 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora, IL 60504. Come be part of your school’s history in
the making! Go Mustangs!!
