Happy to see many areas addressed. Not happy for the big middle finger to COWL/WATTS area.
Honestly, the plan might even look like a desperate attempt at a divide/conquer strategy to hold onto the 4 seats.
Even if COWL/MW are the only ones to get the middle finger I'll still be very glad and happy for the NV classes of 2012 and the others that get to stay at their existing school....where they started... because THAT IS FAIR.

Also do we not remember that Naperville North opened with freshman only - how did that school turn out ? Wow, maybe if they did that at MV, it would eventually beat the other D204 HS test scores.

Also a little bird tells me maybe the hard and fast rule that boundary/ attendance area exceptions within the same district may NOT automatically disqualify kids from athletic participation - that that decision might defer back to the school district. I'll post as soon as I get an answer from the IHSA.... so allowing the class of 2012 to stay put may not be the death knell to the kids sports endeavors, unless we want it to be.

Do I support a plan that keeps current NV freshman at their current HS? Absolutely, that's a no-brainer. Believe me, I think all freshmen should be allowed to finish out at the school they start at. No sophomores should be moved, period. MV should open with freshman only. That class of 2012 that is expected to move from Waubonsie (a full, complete all-encompassing high school) to an unfinished, incomplete, shell-of-a HS at MV, is completely getting ripped-off. We're going to destroy the lives of many high school kids for what? Don't tell me about the overcrowding as it's pretty clear that the current HS kids are living it now. Let the class of 2012 remain at their current high school and let MV open with freshman only. Why does this need to be so difficult . Oh, yeah, because NV opened with sophomores and that's the way it was done in the past. Come on, haven't we learned anything? There are often better ways to do things. FWIW, we continue discussing MV as if it is guaranteed to open in fall of 2009. Do we REALLY know if that's possible? I know all the rhetoric and BS that is being said by the SB that it's for sure going to open on time (remember when they told us it was for sure going at BB? or when they told us we could pay whatever it cost? or when they told us that Quick Take was just a formality, blah, blah, blah). Bottom-line is they can say what they want but depending on Mother Nature and some other forces they can't control - can it truly be done on time? I still am questioning that. At what point will they throw in the white flag to surrender and say that it can't happen and then do we get a refund on our expedited costs?

ANother amazing ( well really not so amazing) concern with leaving the class of 2012 where they are is the cost of potential double bussing.... yet the bussing plan for Watts to MV and for some other schools to WV to meet the 30-40 minute time frame, and this will last forever, is not a concern ? I guess the busses from here are cheaper

Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen.
