Hopefully many of you have participated in the early voting process. Those who have not...please take the time to vote tomorrow. As important, encourage you neighbors to do the same.
We have historically had horrible voter turn out for these Spring elections. This poor turn out typically favors incumbants and those who have a strong political machine behind them. And the slate of Rasmus, Rising, DeSart and Peihl have an unbelievable machine behind them (the d204 establishment). It is no accident that the "Fab 4" has been attacked for the teacher union endorsement. Older voters tend to have a stronger turn out and tend to vote more conservatively (against large spending). So as this establishment is planning on how to pass an operating referendum, it is taking great pains to paint those who will bring about fiscal responsibility and transparency as big spenders beholden to the teachers.
But the low voter participation means that more then ever, every single vote will count. With so many candidates, the difference between a winner and loser could easily be less than 100 votes.

Thankfully, nobody sounds paranoid. What an unbelievable machine. 4 candidates operating completely independent of each other versus 4 candidates financed by $40K in money funneled through a shell organization. One of the candidates of the "machine" can't even afford lawn signs. Who is the "establishment?" It sounds so spooky and clandestine. Is C. Montgomery Burns part of it?

Hey chic:
It is not like this is anything new. Other candidates have had money behind them in the past.
I just want a change. We need a change. I am not talking about duly appointed re - elects. It is time for the people to voice their opinion. Lets get people in there who will make a difference. The M2 regime needs to end on April 7th.

If your concern is about "paranoia" I would be MORE than happy to vote for Yuming Huang, Janey Wagner, Mike Strick and Christine Vickers. THEY are the ONLY "4 candidates operating completely independent of each other" IMO.
