TG is not the only area in the South. I think the reason we did not see more voters from the South is because a large part of the South was not directly impacted by the boundary changes. If Springbrook, Brooks Crossing, Still Water or Ashbury were being rerouted to WVHS, I bet that you would have seen a "different" kind of turn out at election time. I would like to think that people came out to vote, not because of unhappy boundary choices. but because they are concerned about the fiscal direction of this district. so boundaries are a reason to come out and vote, but not a reason to come out to vote? Absolutely- ask the people of Brookdale - who came out at between 70 and 80% if I remember right the first time. Or the people in Springbrook who had vote no signs in their yard...before the boundaries were set for BB unfortunately - due process did not allow some areas to vote for or against what we have

so boundaries are a reason to come out and vote, but not a reason to come out to vote? I have family that lives in the Clow attendance area. Sad to say, they were only concerned about SB decisions if it directly impacted where thier kids went to school. Having lived in Owen "west" for many years I have been on a roller coster ride with boudaries several times. What have I learned? 1. You never have control of where you will go to school. 2. If you do not like the boundary change, move or go to a private school. 3. Most people do not care unless it impacts them directly. There are many people in this district that can not afford to move or go to private school. So I supppose that group would vote for SB based on boundary issues. Maybe. I did partially. I can only speak for myself. I personally will never re-elect a SB member that does not take the time to hear all sides to a major decision that impacts people's lives. Point and case......When the SB threw Owen "West" under the bus in the last boundary issues. Not one SB member even discussed how much Owen "west" had been sliced and diced already in the "war of the boundaries." The SB did not give anyone from Owen"West" a chance to speak. Just a discussion, even if we did not like the outcome, not a "slam dunk" decision. With that said, I did not vote for CV. I voted for 4 SB members that I thought would bring some good financial background and a better communication skill set to the SB. Destart is the only one that won that I voted for. Thank you for great post- and honesty ---- " 1. You never have control of where you will go to school. 3 2. If you do not like the boundary change, move or go to a private school. . 3. Most people do not care unless it impacts them directly."1. nor will the boundaries have to make any sense for parents/students or even financially- personal agendas of those deciding will always dominate2. Yes you can and I have- but then you get PM's and emails and facebook comment about being a snob - it's really freakin' amazin that you can have to borrow from your retirement to give your kid a stable HS experience and be called a snob...by those who supposedly can spot them a mile away ( or 8 miles away)3. Apathy is the largest factor in the vote in our area- sad to say. That coupled with fear ( like that spread in some emails to scare people someone might take away what they have- and deserve ) -
