There will be a Post-election meeting of anyone from the board at. Quiglys 43 E. Jefferson
March 25, 2006 starting promptly between 7:30 - 8PM
I have it on good authority that there will be a Topher sighting.
Alas I won't be able to attend as I will be in Milwaukee for a function at my daughter's school (Marquette) Maybe we can make this a monthly meeting .
What say you all?

Name tags might be a nice touch. I was standing right next to ED the other night and he had to be pointed out to me. And I used to be in law enforcement, very scary.

I guess the laptop set up and the maniac running back and forth up front to get results wasn't a giveaway.

I will be there. Also, I heard a rumour that Topher will show up. Can anyone confirm? I can't post rumours, you know.

So how do I recognise the group? I'll be drinking Red Stripe beer in honor of the red stripes of the "New" high school boundary area. (Actually, it is orange on the school board's map, but I think it faded a bit). I would recommend Blue Moon for those in the Neuqua area with blue stripes, and Green River & Vodka for those in the WVHS area with the green stripes.

Time to leave the Upstate 8
NV,WV,NHS
+ the four Plainfield schools = new conference
or 203 + a few others.

My hub has thought we should leave this conference for a long time. Some of the schools are very far away; it just makes more sense. How hard is it to change conferences? Wouldn't all the schools have to agree (16 or so?). I am SO happy we will have this problem!

I think the Class AA cutoff is something around "over 1800 students"...remember there are not very many 4200 student HSs and not even that many 3000 student HSs.
And I believe once you are admitted to IHSAA then you submit a request to the conference you want to be admitted to and they vote to allow you into that conference at the local level.

For state playoffs, NV would be in different classes. Right now, NV is a lot larger than the other U8 schools.
It doesn't take much to form a new conference. Look what happend to SICA.
I think the 4 Plainfield HS, 204 and AE would be a great conference and travel would be greatly reduced.
From what I hear from 203 people, they really like the DV .

I'm sorry to miss you guys tonight but it's one of those rare opportunities where the whole family is home for the evening. I feel I've neglected the kids enough during this whole referendum process and it will be good for us to spend some time together. Maybe next time.
