The lone board member in Clark County who voted against him based on salary alone, must be the smartest person on the school board! Given this current economy, it is quite a risk for the Clark County SB to rely on the community for a large part of Dr. D's salary. It will be interesting to see how long Dr. D last in Clark County.

When can the 204 SB offically start the search for his replacement? Do they need a formal letter from Dr. D first? Has the search been started and I missed that info.?

I expect KB to be named 'interim' - while we do a search, unless M2 wants her in that role- then there may be no interim to the title.

Very strong info had her leaving for 203 6-8 months ago, then that suddenly went away -- wonder if the events are tied together ? How long has Mr Valentine been working on Dr D ?

i wouldn't be surprised if robbie valentine and the dash have been buddies since kentuck since valentine's kids program was in the louisville district--- i bet they planned that when tony bennet(ha ha ... the last clark superintendent left, that the dash would be next super.. and bennet left to take a state job just recently.)

... and i'm leaving daeschner and robbie valentine on my google alerts to see how the clark 'experiment' works out!

Superintendent Announcement

Dr. Stephen Daeschner, Indian Prairie's Superintendent, announced he is accepting the superintendent's position at Greater Clark County School District in Jeffersonville, IN. He will continue to serve District 204 until June 30.

"I've enjoyed working in Indian Prairie, but my passion is with at-risk students. I have the opportunity in the twilight of my career to make a difference in the lives of students who really need assistance," Daeschner said.

Greater Clark County School District has 11,000 students attending 20 schools in southern Indiana where many of its schools receive Title 1 funding due to the number of low income students enrolled.

Over the course of the next several weeks, Indian Prairie's Board of Education will weigh its options to ensure a smooth transition in administrative leadership. "District 204 has a highly capable deputy superintendent and administrative staff. I'm confident our strong educational programs will continue without disruption," Board President Curt Bradshaw said.




This should say he will continue to receive a paycheck from District 204 until June 30, but he will only be serving his own self interests.

He should be removed from the payroll immediately
