ipsdweb.ipsd.org/News.aspx?id=24161Anyone else notice that if you look at the site from the SW facing towards the NE that the stadium and shape of the building make a Skull and Crossbones image? Fitting.

I didn't notice that! I was more caught up in wondering how they could crop the picture so well to eliminate the power lines, RR tracks, highway, neighboring power plant, etc.
The District is so proud of their genuINE artificial turf stadium. It doesn't matter that there's nothing else finished but darn it - that stadium is ready to go.

I drove past MV yesterday and even drove onto the grounds .
I must agree it is very unattractive. Hopefully landscaping will assist with its appearance.
Also noticed what an unattractive surrounding view you get from the stadium. All you see are power lines after power lines. Rather embarassing when opposing teams come and that is what we present. This is in sharp contrast to the beautiful trees and hilly landscape at the WV campus. I am all the more aware of just how much prettier the WVHS campus is now that I have MV to compare it to.
I find it hard to believe that kids will be entering MVHS to learn in less than 30 days; it sure didn't look like a ready learning environment as of yesterday! But I did notice workers working hard at 7:00 p.m. so obviously we are paying overtime to get it done!

I'm sure glad the taxpayers approved that extra $17 million in funding to complete MVHS, I think they are going to need it to pay for the (they call them acceleration costs). But per the district, those costs are only $5 million. winsome.cnchost.com/MAC/FOIA_031309_AccelerationCosts.pdf

But I did notice workers working hard at 7:00 p.m. so obviously we are paying overtime to get it done! we're paying thru the teeth - I wouldn;t be surprised to see that 'expedite' total be $15M when all is done and said - but hey, it's easy to spend those amounts when you have suckers to pay for it. when you say 'ready for kids'- well just what is ready ? 1/3 of the building not done -- who cares...construction nearby - again - safety is never an issue here. We could have saved all those millions and moved in next year - or spent that same amount and built on BB where no one would expect to see Godzilla roaming in thru the high power lines @ halftime of a foot ball game - or concerns about safety .... or better yet - actually acknowledged that all we needed was a middle school for x number of years and saved $100M + but that is not how we roll hee -- recession, not in 204.
