The 20th annual WVHS PTA Auction will be held again this year at White Eagle Country Club on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
It is both a silent and live auction which benefits WVHS students and staff with college scholarships as well as technology improvements.
If you have an item or services to donate, please contact Patty Smith (WV PTA President) at 630-978-0766 or Darlene Waldron (member donations committee) at 630-470-4815. They would be happy to arrange pick up of donated items and can provide a copy of the tax exempt form if needed.
Go Warriors!!!

that's too bad that this is the same nite as the NVHS Turnabout Dance. Oh, don't worry about a simple thing like that! There's never any conflicts between families who have siblings at both schools . Everyone works hard to minimize those. Seriously, I wish our district would have had the common sense/decency/compassion to keep siblings together. District 203 has it right - they worry about the families first not trying to make the numbers work. Take a look at the way they're doing reboundaries. It's quite a bit different than our district. Getting back to the WV auction though, I do hope people go. It sounds like it will be a great time! I'm hoping that they'll set up a lunch date with KB as a silent auction item. Who wouldn't bid on something like that ?!

Today's article has the Super hiring a PROFESSIONAL demographer to review the entire district going forward to look at changing patterns etc to plan for the future. We'd give it to the bridge/bus lady I'd love a professional demographer look at my area attending the 7th closest HS to our home. Furthest in 204 by a long shot. WHile they were at it they could look at us attending Hill also. and I am sure a professional would have thrown up all over MV site from that aspect... which is why we chose to keep all decisions inbred

Casey,
Thanks for the reminder to tell people about the "quirky" auction items donated by Administration...
** blocks of lockers
** parking passes
We are also hoping to have an auction item you can bid on to be the person who flips the coin at the start of the WVHS Homecoming game! How fun would that be for a young football player!!!
If you have any other unique ideas we can run past admin. , please post them! Doesn't hurt to ask!

We'd give it to the bridge/bus lady Doc, show some respect, that's "Director of Bridge/Bus Lady Services" afterall. I think she was promoted to that by Superintendent gym lady

Have a great time, I hope for you it is successful. I can't be there as we already have 2 other events that day. I also have personal turmoil and conflict in participating, as I shared privately with slp (that being that a White Eagle hosted event raising large WVHS PTA dollars would be a 'fait acompli' for certain board members that believed in social engineering).

Thanks to everyone who helped plan and run the WV Auction. It was a lot of fun and very successful! There were some fantastic items and services to bid on (with some great prices). I walked away a few hundred lighter but did get some incredible items - gift certificates, gift baskets, etc.
In addition to the silent auction there was a live auction. Kudos to the MC, Bill White, he did an outstanding job. He was funny, quirky, and very successful running the live auction. He was funny ha-ha, not funny obnoxious and he did a great job getting the audience to bid and then bid again (his powdered blue tux jacket was a big hit). A gift certificate for Thomas Ortho went for $650, a condo in FL went for around $800, Bear's tickets went for $850, Sox tickets for $650, WV banner went for $200, White Eagle golf went for $500, a beautiful handmade Waubonsie quilt went for $1200!!!! There were deals to be had including parking spots, prom tickets, summer camps, etc.
There was a table full of $10 mystery bags. One winner got a bottle of Dom. The other items included gift cards, coupons, etc.
Everyone put it on your list to attend next year. It was a great fund-raiser but was fun too.
Cathy Piehl and Curt Bradshaw were there as was a table of WV staff (including the principal). I did not see KB or Mike Rogowski there. Oh and the bus lady wasn't there either ;D.

I found it interesting to see CB and CP but the two SB members who actually live within WVs boundaries MM and CV were notably absent. Two bad MM didn't show up. I think there may have been some fireworks.
