I can see it now. The General Assembly has the legal authority to decide budget priorities. They can site the NFSOC lawsuit dismissal as precidence for what governing bodies have the absolute right to decide in our republic form of government.

It really comes down to what group of parents/families does D204 (the admin and SB) really want to alienate and piss off ?? Those with:
* athletes * AP courses and curriculum * college bound Sr utilizing Frontier * families in their own neighborhoods * musically aspiring students * ADK students they were forced to send them there * admin staff in the household * teachers household * PTA members * clubs members * non-tenured teachers * tenured teachers that are ineffective * special needs in the household * the entitled * everybody * the misinformed * people that voted them into office * and the biggest fish of all - lets sue the State of Illinois (ourselves). Good idea - not
Hey wait a minute isn't King Metzger some hotshot President elect of all the School Boards in the State. Cmon King its a straight shot down I55. Charge up the ITouch and head on down "n get er done".
But keep in mind its all for the students so now they must take one for the team and sit down and shut up. Now that we blew the $150m, there will never be split shifts.....dont hold your breath oh its coming......

I am still reeling at the realization of being lied to by a SB that had hidden agendas all along. Where I grew up SBs were made up of people that were pillars of the community and had only the best interests for everyone. It was unthinkable to me a SB would actually sabotage an existing school for their own selfish interests. I am sure at MV they are all very happy at the numbers since their school has plenty of elbow room as opposed to NV and WV where my daughter sits on the floor for lunch and cannot find a seat on the bus coming home. So I find it very offensive McCarty isn't at MV seeing they are just down the road. It seems to me MV was allowed to pick and choose certain elementary schools. Maybe certain people don't want too many title one schools at their new toy. Incidently the same thing can be said at the MS level. My youngest is at Still which is well below full capacity as opposed to Scullen where the kids are wall to wall. Again I kick myself as to have believed the BS the last several years. "your training is now complete, no more can I teach you "--Yoda want even more insight, talk to some former SB members as to the real reasons they left the SB...it will curl your hair the depth of agendas and power struggles.

Another 6 mil wasted!!!!!! You've got to be kidding me?! Who the hell do they want to sue? What an absolutely dumb idea. Who was the genius that came up with that suggestion? Wake up people there's no money there. Sue the state of IL - that's hilarious. I certainly hope whoever came up with this brilliant suggestion isn't making any decisions for our district ,

"your training is now complete, no more can I teach you "--Yoda Ah, ol' times - hope all is well with ya Topher, wherever ya are. the orignial group we had could move mountains, as indeed we did---maybe, just maybe this crisis will bring back out the old team for one last hurrah -- the purging of the issues in 204 at the ballot box, and then in admin.

Thanks for the enrollment numbers.
Does anybody know how many kids from WV attend Frontier Campus? Also, do you think that enrollment at Frontier Campus would rise or stay the same once MV is opened with Seniors?
I agree that at some point, whether or not a high school is closed, I think that the SB will be forced to look at the high school boundaries again.
It saddens me to read that some of your kids are still sitting in over crowded situations via, lunch room, classroom, bus ride, etc. For all of the upheaval this district has been through, everyone should have a place that is not crowded.

I will see if I can get the exact breakdown on WVHS vs NVHS @ Frontier. We had it a few years ago and it was about 85% NVHS studnets at the time.

If you live in Owen "West" it is only a five minute drive to Frontier Campus as compared to a longer bus ride to MV.

Gotta love the signs being posted on our schools - "State of Illinois owes District 204 $7.8 million". According to DeSart, she has been asking Birkett for weeks to put the signs up. Hello.... Get in line 204. There are around 880 school districts in Illinois seeking their piece of the pie. Before them are the State Universities seeking their piece as well. So who will take home the bacon? In my opinion, on a state level, we need to consolidate school districts. That would eliminate a lot of administration salaries. That is just a starting point. On a local level, our district needs to look at consolidating our schools as well. So many are under utilized. Has anyone looked at the district web site to see the list of all the administrators in our district? Very interesting. They talk about all the pink slips for teachers - how about a few pieces of pink going out to the administration? ? Just a thought.

The emotional well being of our kids means nothng again to the personal agendas... how pathetic. Again, my real hope is that all this attention grabbing nonsense draws auditors as to where the money has gone around here the last 5 years and why some decisions were made- including safety decisions on the school site - back door meetings with AME when BB was still expecting us to be negotiating etc... Plenty of people here have plenty of facts to disclose

Gotta love the signs being posted on our schools - "State of Illinois owes District 204 $7.8 million". Are they seriously doing that (I haven't checked yet). Lovely and low-class. These political statements do not belong in the schools. Once again, using the kids as pawns in their game of politics and money, to get out of a situation that they themselves designed while accepting no responsibility of their own. Pathetic. Truly, truly pathetic.
