My husband and many of the freshman basketball team attended this event yesterday! They said it was a great deal ($10 for chicken/burger, fries , drink) with great raffle prizes .
They noticed that not many people were in attendance.
Does anyone who has been at WV for a while know how we can better communicate events? It seems that many events go under the radar or is it just my interpretation?
It was a wonderful surprise to see Mayor Pradel there; he sat down next to my boys at their table and they didn't know who he was until my husband introduced them! They just thought some strange guy joined them!
Hopefully they raised alot of money for the Avila family but I wish there could have been a larger turnout.
Any suggestions on communications at WVHS?

Any suggestions on communications at WVHS? it was 'advertised' heavily on Facebook-- as I received several invites from kids as well as parents. I hope the proceeds were strong also -they did a nice job of putting it together. I would rather have seen a banner on each school notifying neighbors of that event rather than the political nonsense the banners represent today

I don't know their policy on this type of event though. I too would like to see more school promotion of the WVHS Auction on March 13th. I am frustrated by the lack of communication of events. Maybe its just me

Maybe its just me It is definitely not just you. I am surprised by the lack of promotion for these events. This was a very worth while fundraiser and I understand they can't promote every fundraiser that comes around. However, that doesn't explain the lack of promotion for school sponsored events. One example, the WVHS Orchesis show coming up this weekend. I haven't seen any posters up around the community at all. I did see some hodge-podge display outside of the auditorium. The display was really shabby and obviously took little to no effort. It consists of colored paper, a some 4 X 6 pictures, and some hand written captions. A far cry from the beautifully done posters Neuqua had posted everywhere last year. It is neither hard nor expensive to put something together that looks nice. This I can't be blamed on the school admin. though. It is definitely something that is usually organized by the event coordinator and event volunteers. If the parents are not enthusiastic, no one is. Hopefully this apathy will become less.
