Arch, that's why you need to use the address of the elementary school (to stay out of the weeds of individual cases). For the arguments of students living east of watts, I would present Heatherstone, WE attendees that would tack on a couple more miles to a northern site. It's 7.6 miles from Interlochen lane in Heatherstone to Eola/Molitor. Tallgrass gets even worse. however MW boundaries has a large % of their students east of the school - so how is that correct to use ? The school boundaries are not central for most of the schools. I live 1 mile east of May Watts - and there is a LOT of housing here -- and 7.6 still shorter by more than a mile from where I am...and less major thoroughfare not to cross ( 59 ) - and Owen way further. And in all cases - look at those distances - that is why a northern site is long term costly. Any site in the corner of the district makes little sense for the district as a whole - South or north.

The majority of the students in this area live east of the Watts school, just FYI. Buttonwood/Countryside has had more backfill/turnover than WestWinds has (which started a couple of years ago but naturally, lately, has slowed for the time being). It would be interesting to drive that route and note the time in the morning traffic If I can find my sundial - I will time it. Will have to gas up the SUV first. Maybe pack a lunch I will do it at 7:45 AM since I am out at that time anyway. For some areas the buses may be able to use River - for most however - either Rt 59 or Ogdento Eola and drive past WV ( can wave going by ) - now that's quite the choice. btw - the bus ride from my area to Hill ( a few miles closer ) and on this side of Rt 59 - is from 8:23 p/u ( and we are not near the first stop) to 8:55 ( usual arrival time - sometimes late now ) - so that's 32 minutes -- for some on the bus already 40, but gee , let's put another 15 minutes on that. Significant number of kids in the Fields / Fields Townhomes & Fields Villas as well - far south and east of the school. As well as those south of Rickert.
