I think we need this thread as a place where we can post what J.C. is saying regarding the new high school and anything related to it that appears suspicious, such as her attempts at dividing the district or attempts at changing the high school boundaries.
I’ll start
1) Daily Herald and Sun ran articles where J.C. alluded to making boundary changes. Please read the thread called “Stirring the pot”.
2) The Sun publishes an article about Brookdale residents possible sending their kids to private schools or moving because they are unhappy. Could J.C. be behind that LTE? Discussed also under “Stirring the Pot”.
3) In the May issue of the “Eagle’s Eye” there is a note from J.C. I put in bold what I find to be an attempt on her part to put back into play her same strategies to get option 6 or 6A. Here is the letter.
4) Dear District 204 Community,
Spring has finally arrived. Cabin fever has broken. Flowers are blooming. Birds are singing. Winter is fast becoming a distant memory. I guess living in Chicago isn’t so bad after all!!
With the referendum successfully behind us, we’d like to thank everyone for their support, especially those who worked tirelessly on behalf of “204 the Kids” to get the word out on the need for high school and middle school space. Passage of the referendum means that we will be able to continue providing a quality education for our children for many years to come.
More than 14,000 of you voted in support of creating additional instructional space for our children. We are also very aware of the fact that more than 10,000 of you felt that you could not support the referendum as presented. As we busy ourselves over the coming months with the tasks involved in building the third high school, it is important that we also take time to reflect on what can be done to bridge the divide that exists in our district so the healing process can begin.
As the district’s mission statement notes, education works best when the entire community participates and shares in the responsibility. We know that it is the sum of our many parts coming together that makes our community as vibrant and child focused as it is. We need each other in order to make this work. Let’s start today to work toward bridging the divide that exists in our district by finding ways to reach out to one another. Let’s work together to continue to find ways to build a better tomorrow for out kids.
My comments:
Why must she point out the fact that not everyone voted for the ref.? We already knew that not everyone was going to vote for it so what is her point. What is the hidden message in that comment?
Why start in with the “our district is divided” thing again? I thought the residents of the district explained to her that she was dividing the district by making those kinds of irresponsible remarks.
Really now!!!………here she goes AGAIN!!!!AAAAhhhhhh I’m losing it because I can’t believe after all the hard work that the members of the district put into working towards healing, she not only fails to acknowledge our efforts but instead gives us the “you evil overachievers – how dare you” spiel once again.
We have “unity” maybe not 100% but no district has 100%. We are not dysfunctional like she would like to have us believe. I wish she would stop implying that we are children that need to be taught a lesson.
This convinces me even further that she MUST GO !!!!
